Do i dare to report a stat-padder?

Ive noticed a certain pattern here at the forum. When someone catches someone else stat-padding they go onto the forum and ask other people to report him. And when the stat padders PID is displayed people say things like: 'Report him' or 'Someone should report him'. But no'one wants to do it themselves... It seems like people are scared of reporting stat-padders.

I thought i'd try to report one of our latest badguys: Sergeant_Culley, but as soon as i realised that they wanted my email i backed off.

Are you scared of reporting stat-padders? Would you do it if it was anonomous?

i think i have heard a story about a guy that reported a cheater and the next day he noticed someone was following him. thats about all i remember but in the end i think the guy ended up reporting the stalker.

They ask for your email so that you dont aimlessly report random people for the fun of it.

Seriously.....If you're uncertain....report it anyway. The experts can monitor him and possibly even detect a new hack that can be forwarded to PB.

BF2RS (and BFROE I'm sure) both have measures in place to keep people from reporting innocent victims. Its very easy to spot a stat padder when you know what to look for. Of course, people using exploits, servers violating rule, or abusive admins would require screenshots as proof as we can't see those particular items. Both groups are here for the community and both groups take a lot of abuse for what they do in their spare time. But at least you can report people like this in BF2. I remember back in my day...

I think reporting people is like mopping the blood off the floor rather than dressing the wound, the task never ends and the patient grows weaker with time and dies. The solution to the task may be the total opposite of what is being done even if it is a little more effort than mopping. Thats why id never bother, could never report them all and could never stop it happening again in the future so what exactly would it achieve.

Wtf.. I only reported a few servers (Yes just take a quick 16 Player Version Karkand search in the server filter and you will find lots of knife and pistols) So I reported some and what now? They are sending some Gangsta Ninja's to my house? Ah w/e sometims I don't report out of lazyness..

Doesn't hurt to report them. I reported one that I saw that was a colonel, and I later found that his stats were reset. So it does work. I figured either way, what could it hurt.

Well the chance of someone attacking IRL is probably minimal.

What i'm worried about is virus etc being sent to my email. And for those who wonder: Yes i can be a little bit paranoid about this kind of stuff since i dont know very much about the realistic limits of a hacker. I'd imagine they are something like Boris in Goldeneye. :p

i have seen like 50 BILLION in my time of playing BF2
