nostromo shift macro

has anyone had trouble creating a macro that uses the nostromo shift button aswell? ive tried to create a normal infantry shift and a vehicle shift (red thumb button) that i want to toggle between and macro it when i press 'e' (enter vehicle) but cant get it to work.
