What actually is a Driver Special Ability Point? And how do you obtain some of these points?

If you are driving a tank, and say you have a hatch gunner as a medic, when you drive next to an injured teammate and he gets a healing point you get a driver special ability point.

When your a medic/engineer/support and you get in to a vechical and you heal/fix/ressuply you get a special ability point

I think that is what it is anyway

here is a more generic answer
eg
we all know that if a helo pilot is supply, and someone tosses mines, etc
pilot will get a supply point - but NOT an assist point
you get the assist point when anyone in your vehicle gets his own points
eg
if you have a supply guy in your helo, and a 3rd guys tosses mines
then supply guy gets HIS supply point, then pilot gets assist point
and of course, attack pilot gets an assist point every time his gunner gets a kills (YES, you also get a kills assit at same time)

yes.
Im trying to get my Driver Special Ability Points up for a medal so ive been flying alot and letting my gunner get the kills. ive been tracking this and my driver points are going up with each gunner kill.

gunners also get driver kill assists when the driver kills someone...

And if you're commanding and in the gunner seat of a heli you still get the points in your stats???

Yes, you get the kills, and vehicle/kit stats added to you global stats, just not in game.

please dont command and sit in the gunners seat, its a waste of a resource.

If your passenges heal/fix/ressupply then yes you get a Driver Special Ability point.

If a passenger kills someone you get a driver kill assist.

Yes only the driver gets these points.
If you're the medic/support, then you get your normal heal/resupply points.
The driver gets the Driver Special Ability point.
Other passengers get nothing AFAIK.

Yes, in game they are different, but as per tracking purposes, they all go to the driver ability catagorey.
