Hi everyone, I got BF2 a couple of weeks ago and to tell you the truth..im really happy that I bought it :) although I think my computer is slowing up when playing on medium graphics. It sucks cause I have lost hope in playing with this crappy computer, so guess what Im in the market for a new computer haha this is really fun :evil:

I have a dell inspiron 9100 mainly used for gaming and used as my desktop computer. It has some good stuff in it, but to me its out of date. I will not be in the market for a big monster eating desktop so dont bring it up :laugh: but will in the near future.

So i've searched and searched and found a nice Sager NP5320 from pctorque, truley what I want; light, durable, and most importantly...can play BF2 and for school work . Its really sleek and I love how it looks and the reviews about it are amazing, so i've come here to tell you (yes i know you've heard it probably 1billion times and once more is going to kill you) you the specs and see if it will run smoothly on this computer (maybe high settings, i have talked to people that have, just looking for more opinons). Ok so here it goes:

Just put your input in if you can give me a good idea of what you think about it. I believe it will run fine, and im really set on this laptop, I wont be gaming a lot in the near future with more high end games with this so its gotta be good with BF2. Thanks and if this is in the wrong section, sorry I will delete it if i can and copy and paste it in the right section. any opinons would be greatly appreciated.

All looks good to me except for the 2.0 ghz processor speed. It will probably play BF2 ok but if you intend to play any newer games that will be coming out in the near future, then I would suggest at least a 3+ghz processor!

And one more thing... 5400 rpm hd ... Not good... want a 7200rpm minimum!

ur harddrive is also a bit slow but with 2 gigs of ram..u wont be needing pagefile and i suggest ull be playing at medium/some high settings

Well its pentium M, battery saver, and quiet. I believe that if you multiply it by 1.5-1.7 you get the equvilant of a pentium 4. but to me thats just a myth dunno though.

What is the main advantage of a 7200rpm hd?

yea, what he said up on top..... I would also recommend an AMD processor instead.... It will run games better and still be pretty good for schoolwork...

It will be able to transfer information from the hard drive to memory (or wherever it will need to go) much faster because it spins faster!

I was thinking about AMD but they do not come in that form with that computer.Yeah hd, i might wanna upgrade that.

I must say though, you picked a good video card... One of my friend has an X700 and he has almost everything on high....He also has a Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz. processor (note this is an extremely low quality pic. he took of us today, but you can still see the immense detail)

Ok so the price tag is going to be around 1850 which is really nice for me at this time, but can I get some feedback with people that have an ati radeon x700 256mb?

With those settings in my previous post, my friend said he usually gets around 40 FPS or above.... He also has the AGP version, so its a little slower than the version your getting...

So how does intel duo core w.e work with bf2 and similar games? Im new to this kind of processor and was wondering cause i found some good deals with them. And one more, how does ati radeons x1400 work with BF2?

well the first rig is pretty awesome, medium-high settings, maybe even high, if you got the hard drive to 7200RPM.

as for the core duo and the x1400.
core duo is better than that pentium M, except that you wont see any performance inscrease during bf2 because its not the bottleneck. and the x700 is better than the x1400.

Hey guys, I found a nice laptop from alienware and want some opinons on it, if its not a problem. I like it cause its lighter, cheaper in value, and the design also appeals to me haha. I might be going with the Area-51 m5500 specs:

It looks good to me, although I haven't heard much about the 6600 GPU. Could someone enlighten me on it? Any people around here with alienware experiences espiecially w/ laptops? Any worries about it? haha thanks guys see ya around. Just looking for some inputs :)
