AMD Dual core problem?

I just got my new computer:

AMD 4400+ X2
7900GTX
2Gig Memory

Everything is fresh install.

When I play multiplayer or single player, the game is choppy (stuttering) even if my FPS looks good (60 - 90).

I have read many posts on that (too many I guess). I just want to know if the solution is to install the AMD dual core patch (AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP x64 Edition and Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions Version (exe) 1.2.2.) found here:

Some people are also talking about a Windows Patch for dual core too. What is that one and do I have to install it?

If you are running Windows x64 then inistall the first one. If you are running regular XP or Home, then install the second one.

I'm running Windows XP Home 32bit (normal one). My CPU is 4400+ X2 64bits.

Is not the first link for Windows XP 32 bits where it says:

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2

They are not mentionning Windows 64 bits specifically.

If have to install the Windows Patch for dual core, where can I find it?

You have to install X2 Hot fix to be able to enjoy the dualcore
