Noobie question about commander score

How the heck is it calculated?

I needed another 2 minutes as commander to rack up some reward or the other so I logged on as commander during a half past 2 in the morning game.

There were 16 of us playing on a 64 man server. Thats how few people there were around. So I was really just commanding for the hell of it.

I sniped a bit, I arty'd a bit, I captured a flag a bit, I supply droped a bit, I UAV'd a LOT and I shot a couple of people with my MG36.

Then as the round ended we won. It was a pretty tense game, down to the last 5 tickets. Great fun.

But my Commander score was 196.

How the HELL did it get so high? I don't recall killing that many people with the Arty, and I didn't use that many supply crates. I do realise the score is doubled, but surely that means I still scored a straight 98 points. I normally have a hard time getting that high on Sharki unless I play a dedicated Medc, and City entrance or Surveilance has been taken..

Can soneone please explain ?

Well, if you were commander the entire round or not makes a difference. Your score as commander is the average of your entire teams score. Soooo if you had some people with 100+ scores that'd get you close to the 90 something, then with 2x bonus for win, there you go.

For the record, ONLY the average score of your team sets your score as commander. You get no points for anything else. Period.

Endless pretty much summed it up. Your score is your team's average score, then x 2 if you win the round. You do get credited for arty kills and stuff though in your stats, but not in the round.

Also if you kill a bunch of people with arty and never got killed (i.e. hiding as commander like a good one) it will credit your kill streak. Neat trick to get a huge one, though kinda cheap.

Yeah, neat trick but sounds cheesy and beardy. All in one move. I like it, but doubt I'll ever use it.

Probably how I got my current kill streak anyway :p

It's how I got my 18 kill streak, but to be fair I wasn't aiming (no pun intended) to get one. I was just trying to keep my team supported well.

Yeah, its a nice reward. I've wondered about my "22" streak. My "15 deaths" streak should show how often I die. Normally around every 3-4 kils. Went up to 10-15 with the PKM now down to 6-7 cos I'm playing lots of medic.

So yeah 22 is like, more than I normally kill an entire ROUND :)

It's how I got my 18 kill streak, but to be fair I wasn't aiming (no pun intended) to get one. I was just trying to keep my team supported well.

Quick tip: If u want a high kill-streak without using the commander-mode, get an apc. I got my 35 kill streak by driving around and around in ghost town (SF), and never stoping. I drove around for about 20 minutes on a 64 player server, before some clever guys figured my route around in the town and planted some at-mines. A shame, i could have gotten at least 60 in kill streak.
