BF2 wont reinstall PLZ HELP!!

Hey all, i hope this issue can be solved.

Ive been running BF2 since its release, but after patch 1.22, it stuffed up. Everytime i look for a server, and click to join it, it will crash to desktop.

I then thought, ok reinstall will help. So i totally removed the game, and now IT WONT even load of the disc. It loads the main first screen, with that small loading window, then the whole screen goes back to my desktop, and the download is not running any more???

can someone please explain whats going on.

My specs are this:

P4 3 GHz
2 GB of DDR400 Dual Channel
80 GB's
P5P800 motherboard
Sapphire 9600 XT 256 MB of GDDR3 memory

EDIT: Ok i have fixed the problem. It seems to be either a registry problem, or the install shield problem.

The way i did it was, I DELETED ALL files to do with the game. I then went C Drive > Program Files > Install Shield Installation (it can be a hidden folder). Open that, and you get a list of numerous folders of different programs you have downloaded.

Go through each folder, accessing the "Setup.exe" icons. If each does not open a "BF2" setup, then dont delete that whole folder. Repeat until a BF2 setup occurs; then close that setup and delete that "BF2" folder in the installation wizard folder. Close the page, then put the disc in, and it should work.

If that doesnt work, then go start > run > type regedit> then go F3 > and type BF2 and delete all registries to do with BF2. Be careful with this, it has to be BF2 thats related to the game.

Dude i did say, i completely removed the whole game. I just cant believe no one is helping. Im sure numerous people have had the same as I.

Ive done a whole Registry scan, etc etc, deleted all the errors, IT STILL WILL NOT INSTALL. I am for sure NOT going to format my HDD.

After the install shield wizard window finishes, it goes to the main "Welcome to BF2 installation" screen, for a split second, then crashes to desktop.

Sorry mate, had the same problem on my sons PC 2 weeks ago, tried everything( ea support waste of time) only way to fix it was a fresh install.

Have you tried AV and Spyware, didnt work for me but youy never know

If you come up with any thing else that works please post it, as my son is alway screwing with his system..
