Didn't see any easy pistol badge threads

Easiest on the Russian team and the start of a round.

Pick either the AT or Assualt kit since they have a grappling hook, spawn at the main base and use a jet ski to get to where the wall is (theres a flag and TOW there if its a 64 player map).

Use the hook to climb up the wall, by this time the two bases closest to each teams main base have been captured (well maybe not the Russians since any time I play on that everyone goes for the first base outside the British main).


Either use the grappling hook again to climb the building right behind the big silver building (the largest building in the map and the building you want has a fire escape as a means to get up there as well) or try and go around and shoot anyone climbing the ladder to the top of the big silver building (with the pistol of course).

Now if you chose to shoot anyone climbing get on top of the building directly behind it using the grappling hook or the fire escape.


Once on top use the hook again to get to the slightly higher point on the same building.


On top of there is a concrete structure as well as metal one with a ventalaition shaft. You can go prone here and shoot between the gap of these two structures.


You can also go to the highest point behind these two structures for a bigger view and a good defense point on the 64 player map but its easier to be spotted up there (especialy by the attack choppers).

Its now really easy to take out anyone, even with a single headshot, that attempts to climb the ladder (as well as extracting revenge on those snipers). You can also use the hook to get on top of the silver building, bypassing any claymores people set right at the ladder.


When I did this I got two kills right away from people already climbing, then two once I got on top of the building. I got my fifth kill for the basic badge when someone tried climbing the fire escape ladder up to the building I was on and got another two kills to people climbing the ladder before I grappled to the silver building and took out people from up there.

I got my Veteran on Karkand no problem. Pistol badge is not a knife badge you can shoot from distance.

Thanks for the tip sevendead. It worked like a dream. Pistol was my last basic badge and for the life of me I couldn't get it.

I started following your advice a few days ago and didn't have much success, but today the stars lined up and I had snipers trying to climb those damn ladders all round - one guy did it 3 times, I thanked him profously.

I also found that if you get on that same building but go up one level to the top of the one facing the MEC base that you have a nice hidden view of the fire escape ladder and can get guys on that.

I love hearing success stories like that from people who earned them, Pistol was my last badge also. This tip could have made it easier.

At least silver pistol will come easier, It takes awhile but it eventually comes around. Just find a good sniping position and get used to pulling out your pistol instead of using your rifle.

nice one, i had an idea for an easy one on warlord as insurgents. Get on top of the roofs near the plaza, be a sniper with the m95 and you can easilly kill the sas parachuting > hit them once with the sniper and get the pistol and you can kill them easy :). That works anywhere but is pretty effective there.

I'm gonna have to try this. I've been using my pistol a lot of Ghost Town at shorter sniping distance when my gun needs reloaded or I have the British gun and need to fire quicker. The pistol is amazingly accurate at long range.

Ghost Town is also a great map to get your expert AA and veteran/expert ground defense badges.

AA- SAS team, hop in the Linebacker at the South cappable spawn point. and head West, so you have a clear shot at the square and most of the roads. If you stay lined up on the road, you can easily just go in reverse to hide from rockets, and also reverse all the way to the other road to defend the flag. If you die, respawn and try again. I got veteran this way, and the only reason I didnt get expert is because the Russians capped the base, so I couldnt get to the vehicle again before the match ended.

Ground defense - Its really too easy. When youre on the Russian team, just hop in the TOW that faces the North cappable flag, and once the SAS take the flag, the AA vehicle will start spawning across the street. As soon as you see someone run towards it and make it about to the middle of the street, fire the rocket. Itll take out the AA before they have a chance to react to the lock warning that was screaming in that thing before they got there. Usually theres plenty of fools who want to hop in something armored, and since it only takes one rocket to pop it like a zit, its easy pickings.

While in the TOW, also keep an eye out to the West, as Ive had plenty of APCs try and sneak up me from that direction, only to be met with wire-guided death. Also, you can take out choppers that come from that direction.

This can get you veteran Ground defense easily, but youd have to get sort of lucky to have enough dummies on the other team to get expert. The cheap way would be to command while sitting on a TOW.
