The most likely breach for this is EA's stats server.

Not the breach. I dont have BF2, and I got the e-mails. Im personally thinking it came from here or bf2s.com.

If our email addresses were taken directly from BF2's own central database I find that a little worrying. Who actually stores our account information? I would presume it is Gamespy. If their system is as vulnerable as it apparently is, it seems to raise questions about what other sensitive information might have been available to whoever got in. I consider it a personal affront that my email address has been used in this way. I am almost certain it violates the terms of usage, and at the very least I would like to see an apology from whichever organisation is responsible for this.
The fact that some people report receiving multiple emails indicates to me that possibly more than one database was used to post this crap out, who else has more ideas?

I'm guessing it tagged your mail from the hacked server, then re-bounded off any same mail addresses :laugh:
