Canucks aren't under-armed, either. Per-capita, we've got more registered firearms than the US (odd but true). They're mostly sporting and target rifles, though.

Of the shottings across Canada involving unregistered firearms, 90% of the weapons used can be traced back the the US.

I've never felt the need to own a firearm for personal or household defence. When I'm walking through a bad part of town, I have a lenght of wieghted dog chain that serves me quite well. However, I own 3 firearms (a .22 target pistol, a .22 rifle (vintage it was my Dad's WWII era training rifle), and a shotty). I know 2 sources where I could pick up a hot glock for $150 and have it delivered to my home.

Key factor: We 'nucks just don't seem to hate eachother as much as some other countries do. We don't feel the need to blow eachother's brains out, even in the criminal communities.

I suspect the issue isn't about gun control, it's about social conditions.

You guys realize he was using birdshot don't you? That explains the almost zero recoil you saw in the video. Throw some buckshot or slugs into it and there definately will be recoil.

So, I could see this in the game...if it were adopted by a military that is. Otherwise it doesn't belong.

Personally I never understood the inclusion of the Jackhammer AND the Protector (the real name for the DAO-12).

They are too similar for my liking. However the mag reload of the Jackhammer is nice.

One problem i have is the Jackhammer, while chambered to accept 12 guage slugs, can actually take much larger charges. The "Jackshot" system is meant to take a propellant round and a warhead, similar to an artillery piece or a tank cannon. The magazines come from the factory fully loaded, and with the increased power the rounds should be more deadly than the M11-87's. However they are not. This sucks.

While I happily admit there is no "factory" for these guns to be comming from at this moment in time, they seem to have secured a supply of them in the game, so i assume there is a "factory" that will produce them.

Incidently, the magazine of the Jackhammer was also designed to operate indipendantly of the firearm as a mini claymore mine.

Realistically you could fit over 12 rounds in the standard M11-87 shotgun. It is chambered to take at least 2 3/4" rounds, and most probably 3" magnum rounds. Now because the gun in the game is the most powerful (one shot kills against unarmoured) I'd say it uses the 3" magnum rounds.

And it holds what 7 rounds?

Thats a total of 21 inches long, if my maths is correct.

Load up on the Aguilla mini shot shells. at around 1 3/4" that runs you an easy 12 shells in the magazine. They are avilable in both slug and SSG buckshot rounds.

Just for the love of all that is holy PLEASE increase the pump speed.

I've got beginer shooter friends who work a pump better than he does.

As for firearm controll policy, You never have too much gun if you actually need to use one.

How are the "unwashed masses" any different to the police or military. Aside from the sporting factor (the Xtrema would be wicked in ntactical shotgun shoots) these things are a pleasure and a joy to shoot.

It isn't law abiding citizens you have to worry about in the streets. Take away all the criminals, and criminal intent before taking away my firearm.

Yes, I've fired guns, .22 bolt action, .303 Lee-Enfield, 7.62 FN-FAL, when I was in the Air Cadets, and would you believe that some of the idiots wanted to even ban the Air and Army Cadets from using guns on the range, despite the fact you are shown all the safety techniques before you even get to hold a gun.

Wow! That shotty was awesome. Never seen anything fire so damn fast! 12 rounds in 1.73 Seconds...that is nuts! If that gun was in BF2 everyone would be an engineer indeed. Although the gun has the capacity to shower the area with bullets if you ran out you would be SOL! Just like the DAO12 in a sense...unload that 12 round barrel too fast and you are screwed.

Man I bet some law enforcement agencies would like a gun like that. The hardly any recoil would prove good in the field. I really did not catch how much stopping power it had but I bet it would hit you like a brick through a plate glass window!

Conclusions: Get hit by that gun = pwned!

Whats with the DAO business anyway? I usually, when in intense fight, start reloading, wait till 3-5 reloads, switch to pistol, switch back and Im back in action.

Sirorange, for the slower people in the room, the only reason he can fire that gun that fast that accurately is because it is loaded with EXTREAMLY lightly powered loads. Those things are basically useless for any sort of anti personell use.

They might break clays open well, but look at the ranges he is shooting at. It is so close it is hard to miss if you have any skill with the shotgun anyway.

Try that with a combat load and he wouldn't hit anything. You'd have to slow the rof down quite a lot. Around to half that speed. While 12 rounds in 3.5 seconds is still damn fast, it isn't that much faster than, say, the Benelli M3, especially as you can't, probably, FIT 12 combat loaded rounds into that mag.

Propper combat loads are 3" compared to a sporting 2 3/4". So you looking at a max capacity of 11.

And he probably started with one in the chamber so it would be down to less than 10 in the mag.

The M3 holds 8.

And to put it politely, that gun, with those rounds, has as close to zero stopping power as you can get.

Civilians can get the exact same, and in some cases BETTER training than the military, and Air Force really don't need rifles. They fly planes and drop bombs.

plus there is such a thing in the british military called the Special Air Service, I know it sounds stupid but they have almost nothing to do with air combat!

they are special oeprations and are used in the same situations as the US Navy SEALs AND THEY NEED RIFLES

The automatic shotgun unlock for engineer is good but nowhere enough ammo.
The Extrema2 needs to be added for engineer.

Jackhammer has 12 rounds in real life. I don't know what DICE were thinking.

I like the idea of giving the engineers rifled slugs (was thinking about that a while ago), buckshot for up close, down and dirty fighting and slugs for longer range. The other thing i was thinking was using the slugs to detonate ordinance from range, using them to destroy mines and claymores.

I have to agree about the guy in the video using birdshot, firing buckshot one handed you would probably seen weapon snap back and bang him on the skull.:p

( BTW anybody notice the Remington 11-87 shotgun in real life is an auto yet in game it's pump?)
