just wondering how many folks pilot choppers and jet vs. those who don't. personally, i can't fly those things to save my life and i prefer infantry combat.

Re: to fly or not to fly
really depends on the situation, mostly I'm a ground pounder. But I'm not opposed to hopping in a chopper. Sometimes it's even necessary because others on my team are having a hard time (like getting onto the island on Wake) and can really benefit by my flying.Comment

Re: to fly or not to fly
I love to fly (ex-flight sim junkie), and usually try for the plane at the beginning of a match, but I never TK or cause a scene if someone beats me to it (I hate people who do). I generally consider myself an above average pilot in BF2, and mostly figure I'd benefit the team most flying the aircraft, but by all means, if someone else asked me for the jet I'd relinquish it 9 times out of 10. The helicopters are a blast too, but they seem to be much more contested at the start of a round + I'm just mediocre in using them effectively.
EDIT: I remember once I was flying an Su-30 and a team member on the ground radioed me asking to be picked up, so I broke off, landed the jet, let him hop in and then took off again; I love to fly, but am not at all selfish about it.Comment

Re: to fly or not to fly
I fly both... alot.
I am just about at 100 hours in the heli.. who knows how many in jet... lol
I am a good pilot and gunner (I LOVE camera missles...), and unlike most pilots, I have common sense and i'm aware of my surroundings.. and jets don't kill me unless they are pansies and slow down to like 300.
But I love jets the most
