      Re: game crashes

This just recently started happening to me.

Try to join a server and wham, right on to the desktop.

SO i figured i should do what i always do when crap like this happens and I tried to uninstall the game. But it won't uninstall now, and I can't play online.

      What is to be done??

mine was doing this and i updated my motherboard and video card and its working fine. that last patch is a tough one. try un-installing everything. even go into you program files and delete the ea folder. then re-install bf2 and special forces . then download the 1.22 full client. its not as bad to do as you think. good luck.. damm bf2 is so sensitive at times. sux when you cant play. i panic.

I myself still get the occasional crash but it is because of my ATI videocard. They never really solved that issue of ATI cards not being as compatible with the game as Nvidia cards.

i have a nvidia card and i occasioanlly get this but not much anymore for some reason

itseems to be like an overload of overload on the system that makes it crash cuz for me it always happens at the start of rounds where i get the most stuttering and im on only 512 mb ram

Installed the latest patch, and it started crashing to the desktop everytime i tried to join a server.
So I tried to uninstall, nothing. Tried to delete the folder and reinstall, nothing-restored the folder. Tried to reinstall the patch, got an error,"Cant find the install folder for battlefield..."
So I'm stuck playing offline single player...how fun is that?

                    Ok, Now I'm screwed.

I couldn't Add/Remove my Battlefield 2 crap, SO I deleted it just to see if that would change anything, it didn't. I still can't reinstall. Lame.
I blame the patch. But again, I'm not that smart anyway...

                      Re: game crashes

I fixed my problem. I figured out that I needed to manually remove BF2 from the Add/Remove Programs. I found a tutorial and did it. I reinstalled BF2 and downloaded the latest patch and now everything works; no crashes.

Here's that tutorial if anyone's interested.
