I'm constantly surprised by the "tactics" of some squad leaders in the game. I think most people who've been playing for a while know that if they are in the process of capping a flag or have just taken a flag, if you hear enemy artillery firing, there's a 99% chance it's heading to your position. If you're capping the flag, the smartest thing to do would have your squad leader and a couple others run off while keeping a couple to cap the flag. That way if you are arty'd then you have your squad leader alive with two or three squad members to finish capping. Most people are too worried about losing points that they will all stay there!
Stuff like this makes it almost impossible to have any good strategies in the game. Or do we just have a LOT of stupid people playing? Don't answer that I already know the answer.
Having said that I've played with a lot more squad leaders who will hang back to let the squad spawn on them to cap a flag and lose points themselves.
