    Need advice for TV missiles

I saw a lot of video of people piloting ALONE the attack chopper. Just wanted to know how some people can actually fire a TV-guided missile when they're alone

I mean, when to switch from pilot to co-pilot seat , the chopper begins to swing INSTANTLY. I dont even have the time to right click when I switch.

So I would like to know how some people can have their chopper immobile even when they switch to copilot seat.

    thx

If you hover it completely still, then "power down" the engine, so to speak, (stop holding W), then you can switch and it wont start moving for about 5 seconds - just enough time to hit a tank with a TV.

I do this when no one wants to gun (rarely) and in SP (always, 'cause bots won't use TV).

Find target, point your nose to its left.
Switch seats & change views, chopper spins to the right. As your screen sweeps past the target, fire!

Now you're on the missile cam view, and won't see the spinning.
Guide to the target, switch seats soon as you can and get the helo under control.

We had a longass discussion with this paranoid freak "TopGunGreg" (if you look on this forum you'll see like 50 topics about him concerning if different things are hacks or not) and when you fire your missile, your camera follows the missile, it doesn't stay with the chopper. So your chopper spinning around is irrelevant to your kills.

You need a pretty fast computer to bring up the TV Missile HUD, when I had a slower computer even with a pilot it would take 2 seconds + to bring up the HUD.

          hehehe
          'paranoid freak' - huh
well now that you all have finaly agreed that there are dozens of hacks -
          eat crow buddy

and DUH - the screen follows the missille
but when you are sitting in a second helo watching a battle
and you see the 'single pilot' helo NEVER spin
and the lying SOB says he has a gunner
and as admin you can se he does NOT have a gunner
well- even YOU cannot be so fu**ing dumb to believe him
but then maybe you still belive in the EASTER bunny

and to the guy that says you do not spin for 5 secs
ever use a watch? I doubt it
either that or your mommy never taught you how to tell time

we have done extrensive testiing - many of us
(and my system is P4 3.2 Ghz, 4 gb ram and x1800xl graphcis card
5Mbit DSL with avg 50 ping
and I run at 70-90 fps most times
so lag is not an issuse
          and spin is IMMEDIATE!
and yes - we all know about lean and tilt to slow the onset of spin

and hmmmmm, watching the vids of the "pros" well they clearly have key binding - which - according to EA rules is also a cheat and therefore not permitted

so, , , - if you want to sit and defend cheats (are you one????)
          go right ahead
if you think they do not exist = well - too bad - because now we ALL know they do

so hold on, if i have a key binding (by this i am assuming you mean a macro binded to one of my keys) that is cheating?

i want to know, cause i have one :P

That's kind of getting into a grey area. If it lets you do it much faster than you'd be able to normally then some people might think it's a cheat.

There's a macro for CS that lets you shoot 4 bullets with the GLOCK in burst fire instead of 3, but it only uses console commands and aliases. Is it a cheat?

yes - not me - but EA - I will try to find the reference -
I was going to use them myself (as my old fingers are not as fast as you younger pups  )
my son can dive , shoot roll, shoot, hop, shoot, spin etc etc in the blink of an eye
and I am going " . . . where is the prone key???????????
so I wanted for example a dive-strafe-shoot key - and EA says no way -
                so I never tried them

this is not the same as key mapping - duh - that is normal
but to be in a helo and have "F2/Rt click/left Click" (ie 3 different keys) mapped to a single key or button a joystick is NOT permitted

again - I will search for the exact reference

I wouldnt worry too much about what TopGunGreg says, he also bans people from his server for one-shot tank kills, because even after 100's of people show him the videos of how to do it, he still dosent get it..... worst admin ever IMHO :)

Regarding this topic, its VERY easy to solo crew an attack helo WITHOUT keybinds, either power down and nose down as stated above or face to the left of the target before seat switching and let the auto-spin do the work for you.

I PREFER to pilot with a good gunner, but sometimes i dispair at gunners that don't even attempt to TV missile, and when this happens i will solo crew and kill any peice of armour without much trouble with TV misssiles. Just because your incappable of it, dosent mean its impossible to do

Slow download but definitly worth it if you want to see how to be a good solo Pilot using tv and chaingun

I watch this video at least once per day the skill of this guy is awsome.

I prefer to watch his infantry play though but there is a nice heli section in the middle.

Generally what I do is just line up the chopper to the left of the target so by the time you click and fire it is right on target.

Damn!! that is some impressive solo helicopter use in that video, i thought i had it mastered, but i see i still have much to learn I especially like the way he twists the side up slightly to launch the TV missile while still sitting on the helipad on dragon valley, im off to practice that now I am also impressed by the chaingun use while seat switching.

As for the infantry combat, he is certainly very skilled but i think the heli flights are best (IMHO of course) all-in-all well worth the slooow download though. Oh yeah, its also good to see he has a sense of humour as well after crashing at the end of the helicopter footage

TopGunGreg... all I can say... is wow...

                          Stop being retarded.

And as far as the chopper goes, yes, you can actually get a solid 5 or so seconds out of the chopper. Go into a slight dive, DOWN, AND to the left, while slightly rolling left also.

                          Try it.

When piloting it alone, I usually use the TV missiles from a long way off, 'cause if I'm usually close to the target, I miss everything.

I'm no expert at solo heli...but while practising on LAN 64 dragon Valley i was connecting with the TV 2 out 3 times. Also, when i switched back sometimes the heli was spinning wildly and other times hardly at all....i never worked out how, but there is definitely a way to reduce the spin drastically
