its not victimless. as i stated already, the game suffers on the whole because of tards like this ruining the integrity of the stats that are a key critical component of the success of this game.

and it always gets to me, people like you will pop into these threads and whine about us whiners. welcome to the crew pal. we're all whiners. we just happen to whine about tards, while you happen to whine about us.

whatever. i'd at least like to whine about something that will help the community out and not just become indifferent to these types of blatent abuse.

I'm just trying to gain some understanding as to how these stats have somehow become more important to people than having fun playing. (I'm "at work" so I can't play right now, anyway)

i'm at work too, don't worry, i'm not going to hit you with the lame tactic i've seen others use of "if you are worried about fun why are you posting here in the forums and not playing?" i understand we all can't play 24/7 and i understand the desire to hash these types of conversations out. we are all human and feel a compelling need to interact.

bottom line, stats have not become more important to people than having fun. fun is still #1 for all of us. problem is we all define "fun" differently. that's okay. but when someone's "fun" results in ruining the integrity of the game and impacting everyone else's "fun", then it needs to be dealt with. stats are a part of this game. you can't just seperate them arbitrarily because you don't like them or don't consider them fun.

actually i take that back. you can seperate stats. don't play ranked servers.

but if your question revolves more around the idea of "why are ranked servers so much more popular than unranked?" then you've got some topic material on your hands. i believe it lies down in the roots of our human psyches as to why we all feel the need to compete and compare. ranked servers and persistent stats give us that ability now like no other FPS has. so we are all exploring it.

for me? i think stats give me a sub-game within the game really. i enjoy employing team based strategy and tactics to help my team win. i find that the most fun. but sometimes i find it even more fun to get a badge/ribbon/medal for doing what i normally do. it's like getting recognition. everyone likes it. it feels awesome. does it mean anything in the long run? does your Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate mean anything in the long run? does it mean you are smarter/better than others? that you will somehow go to a better heaven or have more women than all the others? no. it's just a recognition thing people use to base their initial opinions of you off of.

this is why i am suspicious of anyone oer the rank of capt at this time...normal play( no stat padding) + time the game has been out does not equal high ranks.

Seriously, you believe that any 1 w/ a significantly higher global score than you is a statpadder?

You don't really think that no 1 is better, or put more time in BF2 than you, now do you?

I wonder what would happen if i reported myself as a stat padder. I can pretty much guess i would get my stats reset because of this flawed system.

"Oh look someone reported mouse as a stat padder! Lets reset his stats for no reason and with no proof!"

And i can guarantee that not all of the people who have their stats reset are actual padders. Great work. We now got noobies with their finger on the trigger.
