    Win32 error

my computer has a win32 error. After contacting dell they told me the only was to fix was to install a fresh copy of XP. I have a external harddrive to back my computer up. I was wondering if you could help me with the win32 error. Or if i really have to reinstall XP and thats the only option then is there a way to back up all of my files?

i have already done a repair on the Xp startup CD and it didnt fix the problem

    thanks

the error message i get is

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

    help please

    Re: Win32 error

Can you give more specifics please? What are you computer specs? What processes do you have running? Anything in your event viewer that may give a clue to what is causing the problem? When is the problem encountered?
