How does it work? Is there a website I can go to find more info? Caus what I am thinking is why not make some money while playing.

lots of communities hold tournies every once in a while. We just held an infantry tourny and had over 1000 bucks worth of prizes to hand out to the winning team.

Google it and I bet you'll find a few small community tournaments you can sign up for.
