Need Help Starting a Ranked Server

Does anyone have any suggestions for starting a home BF2 Ranked Server. I am looking for processing requirements, software needed, etc. Any help would be great

first your going to need 100mb upload connection, if you can't get this forget the whole thing..lagggggg

You need to become an EA "trusted partner".....and once you're in, you're in. Everythings fine at first then EA starts talking about the great spaceship to take you to salvation, then after that....that is when they pull out the "red kool-aid".

Trust me man...that is NOT a road that you want go to down.

Not only will you need a spare PC as a dedicated server, but you'll need (as mentioned earlier) a fat pipe to the Internet. Cable/DSL will not suffice.

Just that connection alone will likely cost you upwards of $500 / month. That doesn't include the price of installation, either. Ungh.

and you will need to provide 10 FREE servers fopr the public BEFORE EA will even think about letting you host a RANKED server

i appreciate the advice, can u tell me where the rules are laid out in writing. The size of the pipe is not a problem. lets operate under the assumption that i have the needed cash. what's the steps

I doubt you'll be able to run something like this out of your house. You'll probably need to colocate your server(s).

Essentially you can't. You can lease a ranked server - but you can't host one in your own home. You'd need 10 free servers running first before you'd be considered as being a "trusted partner" - even then its not guaranteed.

Acutally just read you're other post - if money's not a problem, nor the pipe then by all mean's contact EA directly. They'll put you on the right track (but yeah you'll still need the 10 free servers)
