I cant connect to Battlefield 2 to play online, when I try and login my account it stays on that screen which says connection to account server or whatever and I cant get out of the screen any way so im forced to restart my computer. Any reasons why this could be happening?

try cntl-alt-del and stop bf2 process

Your not the only one.

They must be doing maintanence or they forgot to pay their ISP bill.

From the battlefield2 website:

Scheduled Maintenance
Every Monday at midnight (12AM PT), GameSpy will be performing scheduled maintenance on the Battlefield 2 backend. Please bear with us during this 3-hour period and understand that during this time you may experience stats processing delays or login issues during this time.

Looks like it was "Maintenance" downtime.
