I played BF2 a few months ago. No one ever used grenades. It was a rare sight.

I picked it up today for the first time in a while. Holy God. 9/10 deaths were from grenades.

For the first 5 minutes of Karkand, no one shoots. It is just chucking grenades.

Another anoyance is these stupid claymores. Oh man, I spotted dozens of these, but I couldnt blow them up with a grenade, so I had no choice but to take a chance (usualy I died) or find another route. I would rather give everyone a PKM then have these invincible (no way to kill them but to walk in front of them) bombs.

yes they messed up claymores and mines making them indestructible, I used to enjoy creative placement of them to keep them from being destroyed but now heck throw them anywhere, the only way to defeat them is to squad up have a sacrificial lamb get blown up by it and a medic revive him.

Aye, I definitely have to agree with you on this one. Before the 1.2 patch people placed claymore mines strategically and were ocassionally well hidden. After the patch, people place them in the most blatant places showing that they don't care about strategy at all, but want quick points. Often times it's easy to avoid them because they are smack dead in the middle of the street.

The grenade throwing can be bad on Karkand. I really don't see a solution to this other than using flanking maneuvers. Hopefully people will be smart enough to either do it or follow your lead.

I couldnt have said it better myself. There is no strategy, nor is there any counter strategy. It is just quick kills, and that is stupid.

And for the grenades, I never said there was a solution....but they are anoying...

Meh In bf2 the gernades **** me off, more then half of the time my nades sink into the ground...so i have to throw more.

If you see a claymore anywhere, anytime, (unless you saw it laid by a freindly) do yourself a favor and press caps, click suicide, and be happier than if you hit it.

fix claymores = give sniper cloak its bad enough knife kills are too easy along with 3 of 5 good sniping places in say karkand being very well known and garaunteed a sniper there. no cover from commander/ uav even in a very limited form sux badly.

Isn't that being just a bit hypocritical? You back one tactic that some people find annoying, and yet you speak out against another.

And yes, I place claymores if I have them, but I like to place them in strategic locations, I've never placed them in the middle of a street before.

Yes, grenades are fun. They are great around the flag for defense or for snipers to use at some what close combat.

If you are getting killed by grenades or claymores a lot it means you are doign exactly what everyone else does. There IS a counter strategy, it is "don't be so f-ing predictable."

I rarely get killed by claymores. . .you know why? I don't run straight to the next flag. I walk around and flank it. I don't walk down the same alley that I see 90% of my team running down. I look before I go somewhere and I play with my team. If a claymore is somewhere where you can't get around, sacrifice someone and then revive them. Claymores are not that bad if you use your brain and a little patiences.

Sure, I get killed by grenades, but they are mostly strategically well thought-out throws. If you are getting killed by grenade spam it is because you are going EXACTLY where everyone else goes. . .and I suspect you go there to get a lot of points. . .which is exactly what grenade spammers are doing.

So sure, there is a counter strategy and it is use your brains. It's really not all that hard.

ya, it needs to be changed where clays can be detonated with grenades or bullets. i know this game is not about how close you can get to reality, but common. same with mines and c4. might force people to be a little more strategic with their placement instead of tossing them wherever, knowing that they'll stay put until the enemy runs over it or they die.

actually it turns any class that is with a support into a mobile light mortar kit.


if you play support yourself you would have to keep switching between grenades and the ammo bag.

BTW, do people whining about certain weapons, for one the claymores have been reduced, but if you want an example of one guy I saw on a Karkand server that I thought was more baffling than anything else...

This might not be the exact lines, but it was basically the same

Mind you, this is probably the same type of guy who belts round karkand in a hummer or vodnik, as if he was playing GTA and acting like an Italian driver on acid.
