What are the exact settings you play at? Do you experience lag at the settings you use? What is your perfect lagless comfort settings?

i suggest trying yourself.
its not about what other people like, its about what you like. its about what FPS is good enough for you and how you want the game to look, thats all.
mess around with it a bit. you can probably get pretty high, with a couple of medium and 2xAA

i have noticed that the sweetspot for bf2 is 1.5gig and not really the gfx card even if its worth it so far i have played bf2 on a radeon 9800pro, XFX 6600gt, MSI 6800gt and i have noticed lag with less then 1.5 gig of ram

I went from one gig to two gig and that was the biggest single improvement to date in my gaming.

I use a ASUS 6800 card GE V9999 (Whew mouthful) with 12 pipes. At the time it was 200 dollars cheaper than the full bore 16 piper for about 15 less frames per second.

My frame rates are more than adequate. Now mental lag is another story. Ive got the slows in my old age.

What settings do you play on now? i have 6800 and i just ordered another gig or RAM (should be here on wed :p ), hopefully i can play on medium.

I just run medium with the AA off, I dont expect miracles with my aging rig. Although I would run JO at 100 fps and up. That was the game the rig was built to run back then. (@2004?) My previous computer featured a full blown Ti4600 video card and apparently it is coveted by some to this day.

have an AMD 3200+ and Geforce 6800 (not gt)
Had 1 Gig ram
Was able to play on all settings other than AL on high (al off) 1280 x 1024, If I turned off all background processes I got little or no video stutter. at about 40-50 fps. I only had this issue after patch 1.22, prior to thta I could play on one gig no problem. I added a second gig of ram and now get 60-70 fps no stutter.

BF2 uses 1.2gb of RAM from what I've read. I have an Athlon 64 3400+, 6800GT,
and 2gb of RAM. I play at 1600x1200, 4xAA, everything set on high, and average
about 50fps.

It's not your P4! Add more RAM and step up to a 256 6800 and you'll be golden!!!

^got the ram covered, its coming on wednesday, but my 6800 is 128mb the curse of the AGP slot...oh well, i know peeps with 1gig and a 6600GT that play on high...

I have been runnng a 2*6800 GT ib SLI along with 3Gb of Ram . All my settings are high and i have no lagg at all .

The upgrade from 1gb to 3gb saw a vast improvement .

I have 256 memory and had slight stutter issues which was traced to the wireless service running on my machine.

I use Hyper-X matched ram from Kingston which is pretty decent.

Again, I just run medium settings with AA off etc. I can go high settings but the frame lag is too dangerous to take into a Karkand Firefight.

Yeah, I'm on AGP too. PCI-e was 'just around the corner' when I built mine.
