very few available servers

Hi guys,

Since a week or two i'm getting fewer and fewer available server slots for the multiplayer game. I used to get like over 800 available servers to jump into, but lately it's more like 20 or so...Anybody having same probs? Or has a new patch been released lately? If so i think it's weird cause normally EA let's you know there is, and they haven't done so yet. :hmm:

No new patch, but I've noticed fewer servers than normal (though I usually just stick with favorites). Also noticed a whole crapload of ROE breaking servers but whatever.

Make sure you have not enabled any restrictive server filters such as player counts or map sizes.

I wish my favorites were still there...at the moment i have like 10 available servers and they all got skyrocketing ping averages...(300+)...maybe all servers got the eurobooster pack :hmm:...it makes me pretty grumpy at the moment...

normally i had tagged those restrictive server filters on too...so i don't see why that would be the problem...but ill try that one for starters...thanx..

No,somehting must be wrong on your end,I can still get close to a thousand servers all running 1.22 default BF2.

Hmm...then i don't know where my pc went crazy or bf2 got stirred up...I tried your advice by de-selecting all the filters i had tagged...i manage to get 10 more but still all the sucky ones with the high pings...
Maybe ill just re-install the patch...

Are you hitting the "refresh" or "update server list" ?

Drunkenpirate...you hit the spot by telling you run the 1.22 patch...i was still working 1.21...weird the didn't tell me about the update...and even more strange that at the official ea battlefield 2 site, even in community update direction, they don't mention a new patch...oh well another evidence totalbf2 works better than ea :)

The patch was well advertised though although the fact you missed it may have been because of the advertising campaign for BF2142.

Anyway install the patch and let us know how you geton. :)

You can see it on the bottom left of the battlefield2 main page but, as you said, it is not listed on the community update for 3/28/06. It is on the right side of the community page, just not in the list.

Looks like they forgot to add the one date to the list.

Glad you got it working, thats what counts.

I got the same problem, if you have renamed your BF2.exe before the patch, then it won't be updated, and thus not showing the new servers. can you see 1000+ servers if you click "same mod" and "same version" off?

EDIT:I hope it's working now.
