Yea they are all laid down in the editor. In game however its just thier shadows. Every post ive found on this prob says to BUILD FINAL ROADS. Done and still the same results. Does the new editor have a bug???...

Re: Stupid Roads
I used to get that on Darfur 2. I fixed it by UNPACKING the roads properly. It seems you can make custom roads but the editor wont put them ingame, you have to use the templates already made, heres what you do. I think. You'll know if it works lol.
1. Open "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Objects_client.zip"
2. In there you will now see a folder called Roads. Copy that entire folder.
3. Now go to "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Objects"
4. Paste the Roads folder in there.
5. Open the Editor and go into the Road tool.
6. Click on the blue cross in the resources window then go Load Resource.
7. Expand I think its, bf2 > objects > roads > splines.
8. Click on the first spline (it should turn grey), hold shift then click on the bottom one so they are all selected. Then click OK.
9. In the Roads Templates section you should have a load of temples. From now on when you click 'Connect' on a road you have built. Use one of those templates by just clicking on the road you have made then the template you want then 'Connect'.
Hope this helps.

Re: Stupid Roads
I followed the FAQ about the roads here. They have always worked. One fine day they stopped tho. And only thier shadows remained! Im trying what you said.
Tried this no luck. Saw that i had client and server zips in there from when i packed it up..removed it and that seems to have fixed the problem i was having where everything was saved in the editor, but nothing was changed ingame. Still though, i still have just the underlying road shadows. No roads. Do i have to do a full final compile?Originally posted by Sir. Mavrik347I used to get that on Darfur 2. Re: Stupid Roads
The game will use the client.zip and server.zip by default, if you make changes you have to either re-pack the map, or delete those 2 zips in order to test.Comment

Re: Stupid Roads
Ok here is the deal man. Thanks for you help i do appreciate it, but the problem i am refering to is that my roads are nowhere to be found INGAME.
IN EDITOR: i HAVE roads (and when i reload map in editor, still there are normal roads!)
IN GAME: There are NO roads. (When i go to test my level, the roads ar e missing even though i have saved them etc etc etc..)
There are only shadows of where my roads were made on the terrain.
Ps. The editor when it first came out was very buggy, but mapping for battlefield vietnam, i am accostomed to having bugs.. Every time i pack my map, i save it into a folder in mydocuments called "My Backed Up Bf2 Maps". That way i dont have to unpack, just slide into the dir, or copy and paste works just as well.
So what do you think.. I am hitting BUILD FINAL ROADS, then i save and still no ROADS! (Only shadows from where my splines/roads should be)
EDIT: Well i don't really know what i did with all the fiddling but the roads work now, maybe for some reason when i removed the zips.. :/Comment
