PB Disconnected, authentication..

After about 2 minutes in the game I get kicked by PB. Something about not being able to authenticate punkbuster client. I've talked to a guy at PB and nothing worked. I have opened ports on my router with help from www.portforward.com and at Linksys' website. Still no luck.. Anyone want to help if they have any other ideas?

Have you tried manually updating punkbuster to v1.227 A1365

Yes I have many times, I have even deleted the pb folder and reinstalled it. Including reinstalling BF2 a number of times.

I've even turned off firewall, anti-virus, forwarded ports triggered ports. I'm mad...

I dont know if we have the same problem but it justs started today, i start on the server and after something like 5 sec i get kicked and it says
"Punbuster has kicked you for (0) minutes.
RESRICTED: Inadequate O/S Privelages"
is that what urs says? I also tried to update punkbuster manually and it didnt do anything.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

I had this exact problem a week ago it has something to do with your router and the time settings. It happens when the clocks change either an hour ahead or behind. Please check your time settings aslo check daylight saving or easier just reset your router and start over. Sounds very stupid but honestly just check the time of your router..:p

Hmm, I'll check on it. If it may help with the problem I have a Linksys BEFSR41. Maybe something with daylight savings may be the case... I live in Hawaii I don't have daylight savings..

Besides this problem was present since the day I bought the game.. about 2 months ago.

My router doesn't have a time on it so thats probably not the case. I've gotten email from a person at Linksys that said to lower the MTU what does that do?

MTU = Maximum Transmission Unit

1500 is the MTU for most modern lans

If you have DSL (PPPoE), then you should use 1492, but even that can vary.

A good FAQ for finding your best MTU setting is at dslreports.

If you have a cable connection, you should not need to adjust your MTU, but the test explained in the FAQ will help you test MTU settings, just in case.

Problem fixed, downgraded firmware on router and everthing is fine...
