which laptop should I get? Keep in mind I can only afford one at about 1,100.

Personally I would buy anything other than Dell. I've had a series of laptops of theirs through work, and my wife has as well, and I would never consider buying one myself.
As for the other one listed, never heard of them but it is certainly more of an open standard machine.
Buying a gaming laptop is a tough bind as you are caught in a compromise between performance and price. Pick one, as you will never find both in the same unit. Laptops are inherently expensive due to the specialized componants they use, when componants are engineered to be lighter and more efficient is it always at the expense of performance.
For $1,100 you can assemble a kick-ass mid-tier gaming desktop, where as the laptop you'll get will barely run some high-end games.
Oh, check out Widow PC for gaming laptops. Dunno what they have in your price range but they specialize in gaming laptops. -

Yea the abs one comes with a 9700 and the dell with a x1300 or x1400. 9700 would be the best thing to get right?Comment
