Ok, 2 things really bugging me now.. Please help!!

1. Why God??!

About 5 times out of 10 I'm getting bounced for high ping..

I don't have anything else running on my computer, I have a high speed connection, the servers are N. American (I'm in Canada).

Any Ideas?

2. Twice now I've gotten my staff seargent rank, and when I dissconnect from the server to get my weapons upgrade, it shows up as if I haven't got the rank, and just have a little left to go yet..

So I climb back in, again get my rank, get back out to get my upgrade, same MOTHER*%$#@ thing!!!!

WTF??

I cancel to desktop, reload.. Sorry, just a bit left to go, mate!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???

****ing me off now..

Don't have time to do it again, gotta go to work..

Please shed some light on these 2 glitches, if you can..

First of all the second thing is NOT a glitch.
Stat servers just take time to update especially on weekends.

As for the first question the servers might just be crappy.
I can't really help you there.

Yeah, first off you have to finish the round you are in or else the promotion never counts. Secondly it takes time.

try to join servers with less than 100 ping
certainly less than 200
are you using wireless?
do not
ping is almost all related to distance to server
so, pick one close

Where in canada are you located and what kind of high speed connection do you have(dsl/cable/satellite :cry: )?

i've been getting it too, lately. Ping will be around 50, next thing i know.....................PUnkbuster has kicked you for high ping..blah blah.
Thing is, it just started happening. Odd.

Use a non wireless connection, join servers with ping below 150, make sure you don't have any programs like limewire or bittorrent running in background....run anti virus run anti spyware.

and make sure you turn off any virus scanner while your playing

I didn't know you're points didn't count if you didn't finish the round..

It's odd, though.. I DID finish the round the first time I got promoted..

Didn't go through, though..

I loaded it up this morning and low and behold it WAS a reult of the servers being slow to update, as my promotion was waiting for me..

I'm not on wireless, but I DO have an external router hooked up..

Would that be a problem?

I have cable internet, and I live in Mackenzie, BC.

It's not Vancouver, but it's not Tuktyaktusk, either..

I just got rid of Norton's because it was buggering things up, and switched to AVG, the free version..

Do I have to close that down?

seems like the ranking system is a bit slow the past week.i got my expert commander the other day.it took about a day to show up in my stats.
