Too sensitive?

I got kicked for using the term 'roundeye'. Was playing chinese team on a server I've played over 1100 rounds on (wolfserver 64.34.180.28), feeling good at the start of a round and wrote "Let's kick some roundeye a$$!".

Not something I would say in public (being anglo-saxon it would draw some strange looks) but in a military 'simulation', what the hell (i.e.; I'm white and making fun of whites)...

Logged back on and asked for admins name (OgamiIIto?) and he said "I should ban you for racism, you want to say something else?", I said "yeah, you're overzealous". Then I got banned for good, for 'attitude and racism'.

Saw that coming but it was OK by me, really, wouldn't want to play on a server with an admin that sensitive/power-drunk...

If we don't tolerate racism against minorities then why should we tolerate it against the majority? There's way too many double standards.

On a bit of a tangent, I've seen a lot of asians with rounder eyes than some white people I know.

Well. "Round Eye" is a racist remark (although it covers a lot of races). Admins generally kick for racism, you commited to racism. What did you expect?

I mean, honestly. You spit in the face of a commonplace rule in about 99.99% of BF2 servers and wonder if it's the "sensitivity" of the admins? No. It's your racist remarks. No saying you're a racist, not saying you meant it in a "racist" manner. Yet, if I walk up to another black person and say "******"! (Use your immagination, I know the forum is gunna' block this one out). Even though they know I'm joking, it still wouldn't be acceptable to say in a police station, courthouse, church. Etc.

You have to pick and choose when to apply certain levels of humor. You picked wrong, the admins punished you for your poor choice. You should have really seen it coming, or maybe made and effort to apologize without making "ANY" excuse for you actions (I hear that form of apology goes over better than half-hearted pitter patter).

...furthermore BF2 is a combat simulation in any degree, and I would have kicked you for typing "A$$". I would assume you're a child, or a teenager, and get rid of you on the spot because I frankly don't like either. That's just me though.

I've heard the term plenty... coupled with "Gweilo" (meaning "white ghost).
Usually it's a playful stab aimed at me from my asian friends. I'll ocassionally use it in remferance to myself when I'm at an Asian resturant and ask for chopsticks "Do I look like a Gweilo to you?". Never fails to get an amusing reaction, because the answer is, of cource, yes. :p

We (white folks) aren't the majority. There's a whole lot more Asian folks.

I meant in the US/Canada. African-American comics can make fun of white people as much as they want, but as soon as the tables turn everyone starts to get quiet. I know this is an old argument but I don't think it will ever stop ****ing me off.

People are way too sensitive. It's a video game about war and they kick you for saying "round-eye"...all I can say is that is lame.

I find too many servers with too many lame ass rules and admins that like to play god because they can.

I try to find the servers that focus their rules on gameplay and not kiddie rules like name calling.

On a side not though, I did get kicked from the "A Place For Death" server for "improper helo use"...apparently that is when you kill an admin with a helo...who knew.

If it was supposed to be anything like the real military, there wouldn't be any language filters, and you'd get UCMJ action filed against you for saying something that offended the wrong person.
Seriously, though, when my friends and I end up on opposite teams we throw things like that back and forth.
"my J-10 is far superior to your lame JSF, roundeye scum"
"yeah, well, at least my team has enough guns so we don't have to share, ****" (sort of like "took," but not...)

I started lmao when I read the first sentance there lol. Stinks you got banned from a server you liked, but who likes a admin with no personality or who is to serious.
