Yep, servers are perfectly able to reserve slots for those that have contributed to the server, as per Boomtown city membership.

I dont know, that sound's kind of fishy to me, i know about reserve slots but, i never seem that before.

I can't find anything in the RoE that directly describes this, but this seems like it makes a public ranked server private - which probably isn't legit. I don't think EA would allow that. try posting on www.bf2rankedservers.com.

Its allowed.

Servers can kick you from the game to make room for Admins or Members of the server.

If you dont like the server enough to support it go elsewhere, you will find the only servers that are any good are ones with a good comunity behind it.

However I think they are doing the wrong thing by kicking everyone that isnt a member.

i would report them, i dont think they are allowed to have a ranked server exclusivly for their members....ranked servers are for public use...

Some server owners are doing this as a stop gap measure to insure players who play on their servers are members to insure no hckers glitchers ect get on their servers. Not sure why these guys are doing it but as has been stated here it's legal and personally i think it's ok, theres plenty of servers out there, heck i find new ones everyday to pub on.

It is legal if they kick you for members of the server, but ussually it says that you were kick for that reason, but this looks like an advertisement for the website, and if it is a reserve slot, you would not be able to even join on the reserve slot.

I think more servers should do this. It makes for a better community which in turn leads to better gameplay as the players get to know each other. Teamwork is used more often and either VOIP or Teamspeak is utilized more.

I know quite a few servers that enforce this kind of thing. If a member of the community wants to get in and play, they'll make room for him by kicking a pubber. If the pubber was enjoying himself and liked the crowd, they'll usually join the community and stick around. If the pubber was a tard, he'll either whine in the forums or go elsewhere....which is a good thing.

I was having a total kickarse round. Something like 32 and 1 with a ton of team points. I was the leading points person by far (tank whoring as a medic and people were just next to me healing themselves).

But anyway, it was a clan server and they booted me for a similar reason. However, it was more of a "hey join our clan" type of thing rather than a "you must register."

But maybe this is what they were driving at. They like to have everyone registered so that they can contact you if they want.
