I know kills with commander kill when you are sitting in something, i got my veteran ground defense with half arty kills...but does it get added to a weapon if the arty kills?

Re: Commander Kills
No wonder I always see commanders sitting in the Essex or stranded APCs. I'm afraid I can't help you because I hate commanders that hog up vehicles like this. Stop doing that crap.Originally posted by <}US{> Need_2_KillI know kills with commander kill when you are sitting in something, i got my veteran ground defense with half arty kills...but does it get added to a weapon if the arty kills? -

Re: Commander Kills
A commander should never hog armour, but part of being a good commander is protecting the main base w/ mounted MG, TOW, or AAOriginally posted by <}US{> Need_2_KillI only sat in ground defense all the way in the back, trust me i put it to use if i see a red dot closing in on me
If the commander is doing his job, & spotting all the enemy, he can multi-task out of commander screen, & defend the base

Re: Commander Kills
I'd rather have someone that is already being vigiliant behind the TOW/Essex than someone that has to multi task into that role. When the commander is wasting time shooting down a plane he could have been spotting hidden snipers that picked off some of your teammates. Let the people that are gonna be dedicated to using these vehicles use them, not some idle commander. Commanders command, not directly fight the enemy. There's 31 other players that are specially made for that role.Originally posted by SERIALBUTCHERA commander should never hog armour, but part of being a good commander is protecting the main base w/ mounted MG, TOW, or AA

Re: Commander Kills
I do too. I also hate seeing commanders that hog this Essex up. It's the best damn AA location on any map and lo and behold some crapshiz commander is using it to whore his score up. No thanks.Originally posted by <}US{> Need_2_KillI use the second essex when on a carrierComment

Re: Commander Kills
ALL our commanders sit on SOMETHING when commanding
tow, stinger, MG, jeep something
almost always hiding out back where no one cares
and we KICK commanders that fight
(unless defending his own base or something)
even when all assets are broken
he can still be effective if he does his job rightComment

Re: Commander Kills
TO GO BACK TO THE THREAD'S QUESTION....
*ARTY kills DO count for the KIT you are using.
*ARTY kills DO NOT count towards the WEAPON you are holding. It use to in the early patches, but that's been done away with.
*ARTY kills DO count towards vehicles, TOW/MG/AA guns. (You can earn badges with arty kills in these things).
Hope that helps... keep on topic you guys.Comment

Re: Commander Kills
I command in the vehicles no one ever wants to use. If I'm USMC on any map that has the carrier, I'll jump in one of the 5 RIBs that no one EVER uses (why? cuz when you're in a rib, there's a very good chance an oportunistic enemy pilot will see you and blow you out of the water....everyone knows that). Those give you good Transport time.
I never command in armor. NEVER! Armor is too valueable to the infantry. I never command in aircraft. If I see a commander in aircraft, I'm sorry, I'm getting a TK and shooting that jerk down, unless he specifically stated he's using it as a transport to cap a base.
Sometimes as commander, I will cap a base, especially if my team of pubs are not responding to my commands. There's been times on Wake where I'd keep telling them to go to South base when they only had north, but never would. So I'd jump in a jet, parachute out over the base and cap it, since I knew it was undefended from my 5 commands to attack base and 10 scans not seeing a red dot anywhere near it. That is about the only time a commander should be in an aircraft. Commanders that use aircraft to get kills are just wasting our time and thiers. They just want the 2X score and should be TK'd.Comment

Re: Commander Kills
As a commander I agree, if some 1 wants to man the position they can have it, & let me concentrate on my primary roleOriginally posted by bitvomitI'd rather have someone that is already being vigiliant behind the TOW/Essex than someone that has to multi task into that role. However, on certain maps you can't get any 1 to man some positions because they won't get a lot of points
Also, a good commander should defend his main from single infiltrators, but should not get too involved w/ fighting multiple attackers, & call for help, because it will take him out of his commander screen for too long
I learned to fight, & command out of necessity, because no 1 wanted to protect my assets
For example Wake Island, if you are PLA commander, you are in the middle of the fight whether you like it or not
