i have 1.5 gigs of ram and a 256mb video card what setting should i have it set on, i tried the default memdium thing and i got like 7 fps.?

set the gfx card anti-alias & anisotropic to application controlled & anything else to performance.

try everything on low and work your way up

unfortunately the mis-conception is that having 256 ram on a vid card makes it good, not always true.

what exactly do you have?

I have an athlon 64 3400+
radeon X800Pro
1 gig of ram

I run everything on high, but on levels like daqing, fushe, kubra... etc.. I was getting fps issues, so now I have everything on high except AA, which is 2x

your graphics card is too weak
run EVERYTHING on LOW or OFF
and resolution on 800 x 600
maybe you will get 30 fps
if not
reduce view distance to 90 or 80 or evfen 70
it will look "ugly"
but you will get used to it
high fps is MOST important thing to help gameplay

fx5500 sucks for bf2... you'll have to run everything on low... and at low resolutions.

I originally played with a 256 GeForce FX 5200! I had everything set to low, 100% draw distance, and 800x600. It ran okay.

Even now I'm only using a 256mb GeForce FX 5700LE....and I still have nearly everything set to low, (textures at medium I think), and still at 800x600...:cry:

The 256mb makes bugger-all difference, it's the speed of the GPU that's the big performance booster. Value for money, maybe a 6600GT?

4 ghz? That's coo. What frames are you getting. My other computer has 768mb RAM and a 5500, mind you it's 1.8GHz. What settings are you at? I haven't tried BF2 on it yet.
