HELP XFi and x64!

Ok i just installed Win X64 and installed everything

new nvidia drivers
new XFi x64 drivers
then installed BF2 with the new patch

Games loads, i play for about 5mins and the game freezes and starts looping back all these sounds of the same, i wait a few mins to see if it goes back and NO

I have in on XFi first on Ultra high, then on high, it went longer on high

Anyone have had a simialr problem and know a fix? Non of the people in the creative forum know crap

when i asked at EA about x64 & BF2 they said it wasnt supported by the game and could offer no more information than the specs on the back of the box.

Alot of people on Creative didnt have a problem, and i think i fixed it but i dont know if its true...i disabled EAX from the Audio panel of creative, and it worked fine, last time it crashed right when i got in the alleyway close to the Hotel at karkand, this time i played almost the whole round, but it was late so i went to sleep

I have an X-Fi problem of my own. when I try to change the audio settings to x-fi, it tells me the hardware is not installed on my machine. What gives with that?

I'm running AMD Athlon64 3700+, 2GB corsair RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6800XT, Creative SB X-FI

Uninstall all creative drivers, anything with creative and re install...do you have x64?

If you do go to the creative website and download those drivers first then the cd

I read in another spot that I need to enable the gaming console in order to use the X-FI settings in the game, I 'm going to give that a whirl. No, I'm not running Win 64. I'll check my drivers, too. Thanks

Make sure you have the correct driver installed, apart from that xP64 is not the problem because the XF-i works perfectly fine on Ultra-High in BF2.

A lot of people are having problems with EAX, whether they have a Creative card (X-Fi or other) or not. For some odd reason, BF2 defaults to EAX enabled. I know a few folks running mobo sound who get random, semi-frequent lockups with cycling sound, like a broken CD, unless they disable EAX. I had an X-Fi card in my gaming machine and had a bunch of problems. After all sorts of driver reinstalls, care reinstalls, etc. I plugged in my old Audigy 4 and it works great, with EAX enabled.

So....in the end you may not be able to resolve it. If you can play with EAX off then I would just go with that, as disappointing as it might be.

ulta high worked, i instaled the x64 drivers from creative

i dsiabled eax from both bf2 and audio console

played half of a round singleplayer and it worked fine

cam back next day on a server and it froze in 3 mins

so i got ****ed and restored to reg win xp pro
