    Quick question regarding points

I was a little curious as to whether something i do all the time is considered stat padding to all the high levelers here.

A support player is spamming ammo packs until he is totally out of them, then goes off to fight. I see him doing this, and since the battle is far from where i am, i empty my weapon and pick up every one of those ammo packs. I then go off and join the battle. It gives him points but none to myself so i never gain anything other than the knowledge i have given a few points to someone i dont know for a boost.

Would you consider that stat padding? Even though i dont know the person spamming the ammo bags and the fact that its only 5 or 6 bags at a time? I do this every single time a support spams all his bags in a non battle zone. Of course if the battle is all around me i leave em there for the people who need em.

Would you consider it stat padding if you constantly revive people on the battlefield, especially Karkand.

Nope, I do the same thing. That is if my clip is partially used. If it's a full clip I keep it. But always try to run over ammo/med packs anytime you get a chance. That's why they're there, for you.

If he was standing in front of you doing this for the next 10 minutes of a game and forgetting about the fighting, I would guess this would be stat padding. You are being "noble". To speed up the process, just throw a grenade, then pick up the pack.

And someone told me that...LOL...I don't do it myself. Heck, check my stats...no way I could be stat padding...LOL

I don't see anything wrong with it but really, you are one strange person. Most BF2 players go out of their way to ruin other peoples game and you wanna go out of your way to make someone elses stats go up. Blasphemy!

Yeah if i have the FN2000 out, i launch a couple of those useless GL's at the ground and reload for each ammo pack. You know the strange thing is, they sometimes come back to where i am and thank me so that i can hear it. I get a buzz every time that happens. Of course i have had the odd person who comes back after seeing that i collected all his bags, and throws more. But thats asking a bit much of my valuable BF time.

Yeah. Read my other posts. I LIVE BF to help others. That is why i am primarily a medic. Not for the simple fact that i can get heaps of points but to do my utter best to boost others points up. Beleive me i have chased down guys on wake from the north village to the south village in a jeep just to give em a medic pack and then follow them into battle so that i can keep em alive anyway i can. With either a medic bag, my shock paddles or my gun.

Sadly, I wish there were more players like you in the community.
It would make the game a lot more fun.

the only thing about spamming your weapons, even grenades, is that your overall accuracy stat decreases. That's why I don't spam my weapon.

I do beleive you have missed the point. Reread my post.

He will actually only get 1 or 2 points out of those six ammo bags, since EA implemented some "cooldown" thing. I treid to give my friend some ammo while he was tossing nades, and I thought, "hmmm, six easy points?

Well I only got two, though he threw one, then moved away, came back, threw another etc...

OK then, i shall only pick up two bags from now on.

                        Re: Quick question regarding points

No Mouse, I think you misunderstood him. He means he is only ABLE to pick up 2 packs out of the six to get 'ammo points.' You can pick up as many bags as your heart desires during the game. It's not stat padding, don't worry.
When I play on Karkand, I drop 3 ammo packs at a time, then shoot some, drop some more packs. I try and drop as many as I can to help the team. It's super easy to get points when everyone is nade spamming. As soon as they throw one nade, I toss a pack at their feet to make them run over it. haha
I get an ammo point everytime. Works great. I think I've gotten upwards of around 40-50 points in a round just from dropping the packs.

sometimes when i spawn at a helipad there is a guy that has just thrown support things everywhere and i throw grenades. being nice to others can really bring a smile to peoples face and add a little respect too

Must be the Aussies are like this...LOL I think it is obvious who are like this - look at the Combat Vs Team scores...I see heaps of the top players with like 20 to 1 Combat...ie they are damn good at killing people, and dont care too much for supporting roles. Got to be done though, we need these people too :)

That wouldn't be considered stats padding. It's not like you're driving in a transport around in circles away from the battlefield as a Support while two of your buddies sit and spam grenades at the back of the vehicle. Right?
