My game crashes at 62% loading

Hey guys, I recently reformated and installed BF2 and 1.22 patch. Before I reformated BF2 worked fine, but now it crashes to desktop without a warning when it reaches 62% loaded upon attempted to join a game. Any ideas?

what setting are you running at? you might have them so high that your computor cant handle it.

what is loading at 62%? Something is obviously corrupted in this file at 62%. trying reinstalling, if it still happens, post back here

try re-installing..or hit the "reset to defualt" button and load up on a server on low and see if it loads or not.

Did you modify your global.con file to read only?
I did and it messed me up for a few attempts *I think*.

But I also just put in another gig of RAM and pumped all my settings up to high.
so what I did then was just put all the ones that I had cranked up back to medium, then one by one put them up to high before loading maps. It worked, now everything is on high again..... yay...

I have had this as well, but it only happens to me when I have just patched the game. I start a 1 player after patching and it crashes at 62%, load it up again and its fine.
