    Question about awards?

I am the type that does not go for awards, ribbions or medals, since I believe it throws how you play the game, which is for fun. But I was playing Karkand last night and with the TBF2 clan on their ranked server(I need to talk about something with them) and it said that I recieved my veteran ground defense. I thought cool, I just killed four consective vehicles(vodick, Tank, APC and a humve) before someone finally took me out, but I killed a couple during it with my new medic unlock weapon(Awesome :ar15:). But I checked http://www.formitron.com/Stats.aspx?pid=61598980, which is the best site to see your status, and it said I need 15 hours in a TOW to recieve it. I guess I killed another 12 during the round, but did not make the hours requirment. Anyone else have a similar bug expierence?

If you 'don't go for awards', and 'just play for fun', Why do you have such a big friggin annoying sig in your posts displaying your stats?

I do not think it is annoying sig. I recieve all my awards, badges and ribbions without setting out recieve them, which means, I play and pick a kit that best suits the team at the time. If we have tanks killing us, I'll spawn as an AT. If our team needs a mdedic, then I will spawn as a medic. That is why I show my awards and medals, because I am not a stat paddler as you can see, I get killed alot by stat paddlers, and what can you do, but fight...fight...fight.

lucky... how did you get it without the time requirement? I don't feel like sitting for 100 hours in a stinger.

and its 15 hours in a TOW or mounted MG.

Yeah, your nowhere near the amount of hours that you need for Veteran Ground Defense. You sure it wasnt the ground defense ribbon?

Ground Defense RibbonAwarded to recognize the individual who participated in sustained ground combat
          • IAR: 3 minutes in TOW/Mounted Machine Gun
          • IAR: 5 kills in TOW/Mounted Machine Gun

I know you were awarded that Feb 13th, but who knows....

I know that after I checked it(I do not keep up with all the requirements) but I thought it was cool, but then it 15 hrs in a TOW or mounted MG. I do not qualify for it, but it said, "You have been recommended for an award".. Maybe the recomendation takes 12 more hrs in the TOW

I think the main thing about the sig is the amount of empty space around the actual data. You need one like mine, short and sweet

No it was not the vetern assault badge. I remember when I recieved that. I recieved the ground defense award after going on a killing spree with the TOW and I was a medic at that time, because I was checking out my new unlock and kickin butt with it.

If you don't like my sig, then don't reply to my threads. The patch is the 4ID patch that is currently over in Iraq and I think it approiate sig for a game about war. It has the troops marching, and a soldier with his son that he missed while being deployed overseas, it fits the theme of the game.

My sig was smaller than his before he removed it. And mine provides a community service by showing people how not to write forum posts. His had a graphic that looked like another waste of space to everyone not familiar with US military patches.
