Aiming !!

Was wondering if any of you could give me a few tips on aiming... when i first started playing... no matter what the situattion was or how close/far... i always zoomed in...i quickly found out this isnt good... id have to say 80% of my shots are from using just the crosshairs now, only time i really zoom is single shot mode picking people off at long distances... so far i have noticed a increase in my killing along with a little in accuracy, but the one main thing that gets me everytime is at medium distances when we both go prone.. should i zoom, or just use the crosshairs.. Im only posting cause i just took a break from a 6hr frag fest and i was playing with some dude named "swimbeat" or something like that..at first he was in a locked squad all by himself..i noticed he was Ranked Colonel.. and i try to fallow higher end people around to learn some new tactics... i always play as medic and he noticed me reviving him and saving his arse a few times.. so he invites me... for the last 4 hours i watched this dude ground pund with the G36E hitting everything in sight no matter what distance.. he would average 30/5 K/D ratio a round.. minus a few deaths cause im a revive whore.. but was amazed at how good his aiming was.. even up close it takes 2/3 bursts with the G36E for me to kill someone... .. anyways.... back to what I was asking... anyone got some tips on aiming at distances either using the crosshairs or prone !!!!

Aim for the head. I also prefer not to hit the dirt but sidestrafe CS style.

When it comes to shooting in BF2, take your common sense and crush it into a tiny ball, then discard it as none of that applies. I hate how people flop to the floor and kill you straight away.

In answer to your question; I use the sights for longer shots or ones when I need extreme accuracy. As you come to short range engagements I hate to say it but I prone due to the fact that thats the only way to actually hit people

if you want accuracy go for body shots, its much easier to hit
the g36 series are the most accurate weapons in the game, even while standing

if youre trying to hit something at long range your best best is to stop moving and go prone to hit em
but if youre in a hot zone it wouldnt be wise to just stop and go prone, obviously

With everything expect the support weapon I fire without zooming in at short and medium distances. It takes some getting use to, a colonel should have lots of hours to practice his aiming. Sometimes I stand and shoot and go prone while firing. Some guys I believe to be hacks, because they kill me to fast and there is no way when I am playing the assault kit that is possible with out hacking. I zoom in at a far away shot with a single burst and watch the guy hop around and even when the guy is prone I'll will usually won't zoom. When the red appears while firing, then it is a good shot. Hope this helps.

Yes, keep in mind headshots count for 3 times the normal damage of ANY gun. So, any gun that has a 34 damage or higher, will give you an insta kill to the head, REGARDLESS of whether your target is armored or not. So....AIM FOR THE HEAD! Even if you only hit them once they will be either dead, or hurtin really bad.

Thanks for the replies, im not looking to get my "stat accuracy" up, but my accuracy, or i miss understood you, Ive also noticed that everyone goes prone while even if your in each others face, but, ill go prone, and stand back up walkin in circles around you while ur trying to track me... works most of the time, but those of you who use 10000 sensitivity, usually get me

I never try to head shot unless i sneak up behind you and your already prone... i always aim for center mass, never the head thats prolly why it takes 2/3 bursts to kill someone... and its just wild how someone can go prone with the AK-101 and within milisecounds im dead...

No hacking involved. Check out the F2000 if you see someone zoom in and aim for the head. I thought the F2000 was a joke but it can be very deadly. Also you should ALWAYS zoom execept with the PKM or at super close range combat. If your opponent is prone you should shoot him in the head. You say you're a Medic. The G36E is a monster. Prone, aim, shoot. Always upper body trying to get to the head. Your target gets smaller you may miss more at first but if you get 1 burst right (preferbly the first) it's all over.
