Re: xbox 360 controller
A good game pad with analog control, like this one, may be a better way to control helicopters and planes in Battlefield 2 than the mouse and keyboard, and it's easier to pick up and put down than a big joystick.
I got that off of http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1884713,00.asp
I think that that sums it up well.
I don't have a wired controller for my PC but i have it for my 360 and I think it is a good controller.
It has a good feel to it. -

Re: xbox 360 controller
using a console controllor for an FPS like F.E.A.R. in quite frankly laughable...you will never ever finish that game with a console control.... its too slow and too inacurate.
if you find it easier to fly with one if those piddly little joysticks on a console control then get one if not then get a proper joystick, even a cheap one with yaw (yaw is essential for choppers) will cost less than a 360 control
that said.. you cant beat a console control for fighting/platform games or games that have been ported to the pc.
all depends what you play i suppose.. i play my pc games as nature intended.... with a mouse, keyboard and joystick and my console games likewise.. with a console control.

Re: xbox 360 controller
I've said this in another thread that I think a mouse would beat a console controller in a fire fight, but that's 'just my opinion. I've never tried a console controller on a pc game though.
But I do think that for a pc racing game, it would be very good.Comment

I used to think that, but using the xbox 360 controller on Call of Duty 2 convinced me otherwise. Still prefer mouse + keyboard though.Originally posted by Death Merchantconsole contollers are crap

well I bought the controller. It works very good for BF2 airplane flying, about as good as mouse keyboard maybe a tiny bit better.
The thing about the controller is that it isnt compatible with that many games, some it works fine, others its really weird with, and some it doesnt work at all with. but it will soon. it works good for other games that are console style etc. for the most part its a great computer controller for games that need it, but for everything else stick to the keyboard and mouse.Comment

Re: xbox 360 controller
I use the Xbox controller 'S' on my PC, and it friggin rocks.
I use it in conjunction with my mouse...
it does wonders for flying, and for infatry battles, I set the xbox controller buttons for certain infantry functions, allowin me less haggle wit the keyboard.
XBOX controller 'S' PWANS !!! (not the 360 version though)Comment
