In which order do I install (for a new computer)?

Hi guys,

I'm getting a new computer this week. I just wnat to know if the following order is the best way to install the whole BF2 stuff:

1- Install BF2
2- Install Special Forces
3- Install Euro Force
4- Install Patch 1.22 Full

Is this correct or is it a different order?

I believe you have to repatch after you install EF.
I recently reinstalled Windows and installed BF2, 1.22, EF and it only brought up like 30 servers meaning I needed to patch again.
Might have been some kind of glitch for me, but I would assume it would make sense to patch again after the booster.

This is how I installed it:

BF
SF
1.2 full
EF
1.2-1.21
1.21-1.22

I can say w/ almost 100% certainty that you install all games w/ expansion/boosters THEN patch at the end. It makes sense to me, and I would assume that's the way it should be.
But even if you do patch before and after, the time it takes to patch again after will only be a few seconds because it's just overwriting all the files including some of the EF files. So if you want to be safe, do it before and after if you'd like.

But if your computer is slow, I would suggest just trying 1 patch after all is installed and see how it goes. If this works, come back and let us know.

There are loads of threads about this, and nothing seems definitive. Why cant DICE/EA let the customers know how to put all this together properly, surely it can't be that hard for them, Ho hum

I believe you're right. I completely forgot about that. I'm not sure why I only have 1.22 Full on my computer. I guess I must have deleted 1.2 after the install.
Actually, now that I think about it I don't believe I patched w/ 1.2 before installing EF. I don't know. Maybe you shouldn't listen to me anymore because I'm all confused haha.

Simply put, if you have any doubts, just patch before and patch after. You'll be fine.

Exactly, I was thinking about it last night and realized I just used the 1.22 twice. That is why I mentioned it above that if you patch twice the 2nd time will be faster (using 1.22 twice). When I patched after the install it only took like 30 secs.

So there ya have it, the OFFICIAL order haha. Get it installed and see ya on the battlefield!
