Stuttering in Single Player

Hey everyone.. The problem here is that when I play single-player for BF2, the game runs smooth and fine, and at random times there may be stuttering and glitches which slows down for a about a couple seconds, then recovers, and it does the stuttering again.. Along with the sound, which is also stuttering with the slow-downs. It does this on all the maps. I don't think its the video card.

Specs for my comp
3.1 Ghz Intel Pentium 4
Over 1 gig of ram
Video card: Geforce 6200 OC 256 MB Ram
Intergrated Sound Card, 64 mb (I assume this is problem)
20 Gig hard drive, 7200 rpm (Not much space on it)

I do need a good sound card and a new hard drive..
Anybody have a solution?

64MB sound card? Heh, I think you may be confused.

I would bet it's your vido card. What settings are you trying to play on?

Meh, lets leave it at an intergrated sound card, lol. I can play on a high resolution and it still runs fine, it just does it randomly. I run it on 1024x768, with video settings to medium. The thing is it doesnt matter if i put it to the lowest video setting, it still stutters.

I have the same vid card, and I have audigy. It does exactly what you described. I think it's the pos vid card that is stutering.

I had the same kind of problem i think as you did. I was laging out like crazy on single AND multiplayer. I was running the graphics on high, which i found out to be the problem. I changed to medium and it runs fine andthe graphiccs are still amazing.. Try doing that
