BF2 still using pagefile, then taking 30 seconds to clear

Hi all,

Well my system is as follows :

Opteron 165 @ 2.7GHz 1.49V
DFI Lanparty Ultra-D NF4
2 x 1GB G. Skill @ 225MHz
Albatron 7800GT @ 450MHz/1000MHz
WD 80GB 2MB Cache 7200RPM IDE HDD

So, I play BF2 perfectly and all on the max settings at 1280x1024 resolution, but the problem comes when I actually quit BF2.

What happens is it takes 30 seconds :cry: to clear the pagefile that I was told it shouldn't even be using (because I have 2 gigs of ram).

Anyone able to shed some light on this? I know heaps of people who play this game with same if not similar hardware and settings and they don't get this problem.

FYI: I have reformatted and reinstalled numerous times, the problem still persists.

This rings a bell. It was a long, long time ago, but I remember I had to move the page file to another folder or something like that. It worked, but I'm really, really sorry I can't remember the exact details. I hope this will ring a bell for someone who knows.

check the size of your page file it sould be 1.5x your amount of ram

Yep, it's set to auto and that's what it's using.
