    Re: 6600GT Card Comparison

actually Jofaba went to two GT's, not GTX's. But anyways,I wouldnt go with passive cooling, they have been somewhat proven to perform not as well and they are big and ugly. (i saw a comparison between some passive and non passive ones).
Plus, the stock cooler on the 6600gt is small and probbaly not that bad. I would go with the regular eVGA one or an xfx one. I mean, if you are gonna OC go with the eVGA but if not XFX.
Yes the 7600gt costs a little more but it performs much better. the 7600gt performs about a tiny bit better than a 6800gs. (i saw benchies). about 200 more 3dmark points in SLi than 6800gs's in Sli.

but the 6600gt is an alright card, I might look for a 6800 vanilla too tho.

eVGA's step up program is only good for 90 days though, and since I plan on keeping the new card for longer than that, it shouldn't be much of an issue.

Im leaning more and more towards a 7600GT now, seems like a very good buy for the money, just hard for me to give up my near silent setup now.
