What hardware do i need to record fraps movies

Well you can see my specs below. I run my game at high video settings and I get fps in the 20's and sometimes high teens in large 50+ servers, and if i want to record a fraps movie in a server like that you can forget about it, also in smaller servers I have no problems but still recording fraps movies is kinda hard, i'll get fps to low to play well. Anyone know what i should upgrade? I have planty of money saved up from working, i dont really have a limit, let me know what you think.

well, Im going to spare you thoughts about what OTHER software and methods you can use, if you ask Id be glad to help. but, if you want to know, I would say A. get a Sli motherboard and get a second card
    b. keep the mobo and get a better card.
I would choose the SLi for sure, i belive its better for Frapping I think. But that would kind of be a waste of money.

Your processer isnt the best, but it doesnt suck, and you can probably OC it pretty good with that mobo. for Frapping, it really relies on the video cards.
my BEST GUESS (listen to that, BEST GUESS, not an answer) would be either get a single card with 512mb of memory, or two cards with 256 or higher. but please, think about this, it can just all be a waste of money.

and o BTW you can mod that motherboard to support SLi so you dont have to buy a new mobo just go to Dfi-street.com

smart response, i was thinking some moron was going to reply. i defently will keep my mobo, and my cpu is overclocked to 2.61ghz, i was just playing in a full 50 man server and it was 20-30 fps almost the whole time, and started getting ****ed off, smaller servers its fine, the biger the worse, is this the games problem or is it fixable with better hardware? I really just want to get rid of this lag in larger servers, I thought a 7800gt would be good enough, i also have 2gigs (4x512 of corsair value select in my pc and I dont think the dfi board likes the 4 sticks alot.

are you getting lower FPS while using fraps? or just in general during game without fraps on?

Um, frapsing depends more on CPU than vid card. What drops it is it using to much of the CPU so encode the video. Dual core would be the best bet if you have the money to put into it.

fraps is more CPU bound? I could have swarn it was more video bound for the video capture and keeping the FPS higher...but I guess if you put it that way its sort of true.

I remember Frapsing during counter strike 1.6 on a nvidia 5700 my fps went to like 30 from 100, but cs is like nothing of a cpu game. hmm that would explain the huge ass file sizes. but it doesnt require some good GPU doesnt it?
