PSU enough for video card?

Gents,

I recently purchased am in the process of putting my new system together. After reading packages and stickers, the eVGA 7600 GT requires a minimum of a 350 watt PSU and 18amps on the 12v rail. However, the PSU that came with the case I bought is 450 watts (fine, I know), but only has a max load of 17 amps.

So, can I go with my current PSU, or should I upgrade? If I have to upgrade, I need one that meets the specs above (350 watt and 18amps on 12v), and be as cheap as possible (I know, it's hard to get a good PSU cheap).

What brand is it? That's a dual rail so you should be good as long is it's not a Powmax or something.

well, I know it may require 350watts, but does it actually say 18Amps?

anyways, I would ALWAYS recommend getting a PSU over the recommends specs. heres why:

if it is under the recommendations, it can damage parts, play it safe, it CAN damage and hurt parts.

if it is over, then not only do you not have to worry about it failing and huruting parts, but it leaves room for future upgrades.

okay that PSU will work perfectly. heres why: it is dual rail like said before which means instead of having ONE +12v line (like most crappy PSU's), it has 2. the first is 15A and the second is 17. which adds up to 32Amps if I am correct. which is much above 18. Im pretty sure you can add them togehter, like, you dont need a SEPARATE one above 18

so basically, that PSU is fine, no need to upgrade, though if there is an error, and you cant just ADD the 12v lines together, reply plz. but when Iw as searching for an SLi PSU the guys at nvidia said thats how it works.

plus you have ly one GPU. and not much else.

so, even though the max output is only 17 amps and 15 amps on the 12v rails, I will be fine?

should be. because you add the two 12v rails togehter, 15 + 17 = 32. THOUGH, Ill check really quickly to make sure that is correct. okay, yeah you should be fine. i just checked.

but still, if I misunterstood something on the site let me know, though im pretty sure Im right. or if there is anything else, but its a dual rail PSU, and 50watts away from "SLi ready" so with one card should be perfectly fine.
