Anyone buying a AMD 64 AM2 PC or parts soon

I will be buying a AMD 64 AM2 PC from Mesh like 4-9 months after they come out. I plan to go to dual core once AMD 64 AM2 socket is out buds.

even tho i prefer AMD's i dont hav the cash to buy a new rig, and one ive got atm is perfect (xmas pressie (free)) still dual a core ^^

theres ABOUT a 5% performance inscrease, maybe a little more because of AM2, and its mostly because of DDR2. really the only point of going AM2 is A. if you have a server (virtualization tech) or B. ddr2.

That 5% is a rumor. AM2 may be the socket used for AMD's 65nm chips. Buying a AM2 PC 6 months after it's out is a good idea.

Yeah, but it might be more like 9-12 months :|: K8L will be sexy, but the initial chips will hardly be an improvement.

i think i wil go whit the Amd 64 3500+ AM2 it has a nice price but i need 2 see the results in perfomecen

One good thing with AM2 is there not bringing it out until DDR800 Ram is out, plus the AM2 motherboards will suppport non DDR2 ram. Which is another great thing.

Where did you here this? Everything I've read said am2 is ddr2 only.
