Wow, the first "New PC" thread that doesn't need any changes. You will be able to run 12x10 medium/high with no issues. If I would change anything I would get a better video card, but that one is fine.

Looks nice but i would have dropped to an NF4 ultra and put the savings into a 7600GT. Your video card is a little weak for such a nice motherboard.

Here it is compared to a 6800 GT which is basically the same performance as the GS:

Yeah, do you plan on using SLI? If not then just get the Ultra-D for about $130.

I know people with much slower systems than that who can own everyone in the friggin game. Your machine has plenty of punch, and you and everyone here knows it. Your skill and your chance (which is very slim ) of ever owning me have nothing to do with your machine.

I wish my machine was that sweet, but I havent needed anything stronger than what I have so far, so its all good.

How about never posting in the hardware section again? All you talk about here is people not being able to own you. Do you have some kind of Napoleon complex?

Well the 7600GT and 6800GS are practically the same price, thats why I made that comment.

And i think everyone realizes that skill far outweighs eye candy, and that online sometimes its even better to have lower details (because lower details mean less complexity and fewer objects to track with the eye). I have seen l337 CS players who swear by running all lowest details at 640x480. But lets be realistic here, for the same money he can get a far superior card that will allow him to extend the length of time his computer can play new games, and will offer him more eye candy. Also lower thermal outputs, enhanced support for nvidia's next gen physics engine  andnumerous video decoding improvements inherent in the updated architecture.

Sure skill is important, but to many people playing is an enjoyable escape from reality, and they dont want to be looking at a screen that has more in common with a pile of poop than the simulated reality one invisions in their mind.

EDIT: I'm not telling him "spend more money, get something better make your E-ego bigger" im saying shift the funds around for more performance and bang for the buck. 6800GS and 7600GT are almost the same price, to upgrade its only a few bucks and Im saying save $30+ by dropping to an NF4 ultra, and with those savings pick up a 7600GT.

Well, if you aren't thinking of SLI, you should drop that motherboard and either spend some more on the processor or video card. You could still get a nice SLI motherboard for cheaper. DFI's are made for expert OC people.

Even if DFI is meant for "expert OC people," it still is a very good and well performing board. Plus, it might make OC'ing easier, because I bet the time will come when he wants to push his 3000+ a little farther :)

And the computer looks good. A 7600gt should definitely play BF2 with settings maxed and 4x AA. I bet you could put in 16x AF with the control panel as well :)

And I think OC that 7600gt. They overclock very well and can almost get the performance of a 7800gt.

1 last question guys. Is my new system going to be future proof? because i dont want to upgrade every year. Also when i get the 7600gt, will the forton fsp group 500 watt psu be enough to handle my whole system?
