Rosewill PSU's?

Hey guys, does anyone here have a rosewill PSU? I found this one under $50 and it has 500W... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182003

I'm planning on getting this mobo for a Pentium D 2.8 Ghz... http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=247047 so I need a PSU that has an extra 8 pin 12V connector.... If anyone else can find something under $50 and is reliable with pretty good power, please post!

Cheaping out on a PSU will only come back to bite you in the ass.
If you are really tight on acsh look at Forton/Sparkle. Very good PSUs for the money.

Well heres a better question, how many Watts do I really need? I will most likely be running dual core with an X1600 Pro, 2 Hd's, 1 gig Ram, a couple fans... etc.... think a 400 Watt PSU could handle it ok?

edit: hows this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954 I think that should work with my mobo if I'm correct?

Hmm, that thing says I need at least 425 Watts... Should a 450 be plenty or should I go for 500 to be safe?

Edit: Hmm on the box of that PSU it says "Supports Intel Pentium 4 and athlon XP" does that mean I can't run a Pentium D on it??

not too bad, but one of the calculators is a bad link, the others newest nvidia card is an 6800GT, and the third one is the one I use.

It will use more power than the P4. You need a 24pin compatible PSU.

I have a rosewill RP550 . . .im running 2x 72GB raptors, BFG 7800GTX, couple of fans, X-Fi extreme music, 2x1GB OCZ platinum..... no problems yet..

theres not may PS that have a fan, 500+ watts and a 25 Amp rail...i picked this one for price and capacity

Ok, the motherboard says this under specs....
24-pin ATX Power connector
8-pin ATX 12V Power connector

I can fin the 24 pin PSU's, but what is the 8-pin 12V Power Connector? Is it required on the PSU? If it is, can somone help me find that?

My Rosewill has lasted 4x as long as my thermaltake, which crapped out after 2 months.

I haven't had experience with Rosewill but that PSU's specs are decent. The 12v rails seem sufficient. Rosewill is definetly a cheap brand though as in lower quality.

Rosewill's won't alway's be bad. Last I checked there was two subcontracters that made thier PSUs. One was ok and the other was just damn horrible. Problem is you don't know unitl you open the box.

PSU wattage is more marketing ******** than anything else. Go off of amps and stick to a reliable brand. You are spending so much on a rig yet cheaping out on the msot imporant part.
