New Computer, what do you think?

Building a new computer after my old hard drive failed and started the old computer on file

    ECS nForce4 mobo
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice core
    eVGA 7600GT 256MB (PCI-E)
    WD 250GB SATA hard drive
    Coolmax 400w powersupply
Kingwin K8CU-8025 (gets good reviews on newegg so I figure its pretty good)
    Corsair ValueSelect 2x512MB DDR400
    PNY Turbo 512MB DDR400

Sound like a good setup? I haven't ordered it all yet, probably will do that tomorrow.

    the all important question:

how much do you have to spend?

upgrade the CPU to a 3200 or a 3700 and the ram to 2 gigs and you will be fine.

I'm spending about $700 bucks and getting a friend of mine:

        7600GT
        64 3200+
        2gigs of Corsair ValueRAM

        I'll link you the thread.

The diffrence between a 3000 and 3200 are very negligible.

Do you plan to overclock at all?

I have an ECS nforce mobo. You may want to splurge and get one that is better for overclocking. I am a little frustrated with mine.

              I'm spending about $600.

I'm not sure if I will overclock it or not yet. Most likely I will just play BF2 on it for now.. if I'm not getting the performance that I want (doubtful since I'm moving from an old crappy computer). These processors are supposed to be good for easily OCing up to 400-500 mhz more.

here is teh link for mine:

I've spent $685.66 including shipping. I am pretty sure you are reusing some of your old components, so you can knock that price down with in your budget.

Why did you list two different memory types?

That PSU and motherboard are garbage.

                    Motherboard:
