Motherboard and Ram?

Hello I'm building a new gaming pc and im stuck on whitch motherboard, ram, power supply and case i should buy. this is what i have so far,

2 Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74GB 10,000 RPM 8MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drives.

2 BFG Tech BFGR78256GTXOC Geforce 7800GTX 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 Video Cards OR 2 XFX PV-T71F-YDL9 GeForce 7900 GTX (650MHz) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Cards both in SLI mode.

1 Creative SOUND BLASTER X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card.

1 AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Toledo 1GHz HT 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor

XFX Vid cards forsure.... and for the MOBO i would say any nice mobo (Asus or DFI) would be fine... umm i would say OCZ Powerstream 520Watt would be a good PSU and Case is Personal opinion.... but i like the NZXT Lexa...

XFX is crap compared to EVGA. Why not dual EVGA 7900 GT's if money is the issue? I know it's out of stock right now:

You will need a better OCZ PSU than 520 watt for dual 7900's. I'd get a 600watt at least.

I would go for that Asus mobo as wreck posted, the MSI K8n diamond mobo, or a DFI lanparty model. Probably the Lanparty UT DR Expert if you can afford it. and for ram, I would go with some very good Geil or OCZ gold ram.

but as for the PSU, aim for over 550watts (600+) in my opinion, better safe than sorry.

I agree with everything except the psu, the 7900gt uses less power than a 7800gtx, so that psu is fine.Though if you really are worried about that I would definately recommend the powerstream 600w.

Yes it does, but if he decides to get dual 7900 GTX's then he will need a better one for sure. I was just leaving that option open. Even my PC Power and Cooling are having issue with dual 7900 GTX, or dual X1900 XT's.

@ the OP. You have a nice 24 inch LCD monitor to go along with that, or a nice 19-21inch CRT? IF your gaming at 12x10 forget about SLI.

Also a fatality sound card is strickly for e-penis, i wouldnt bother with one.

Anyways to the main question, get DFI if you want to OC, or get Asus if you want a nice stock mobo. Throw some high quality brand name value ram 2x 1GB and your set. Dont waste time on high performance low latency memory, the payout is fairly small for the high price premium.

One more thing, if you havnt bought yet, go with 1x 150GB Raptor. Its faster and has none of the hassels of raided 74GB raptors. The raptor is pretty much e-penis as well, though the extra cost is warranted in certain circumstances. Go with the 150, its a no brainer if you want a 10k RPM drive.
