Wanting to update BIOS on my DFI Lanparty motherboard, need simple help.

    Hey tech dudes,
I purchased last year a rig.
Its motherboard is a DFI Lanparty SLI-DR NF4 bizzo thingy.
    On it sits a AMD64 S939 3800+

I have not upgraded my BIOS or anything except for the NF4 bits (I think).

Q: Do I need a floppy drive to do it or can I run the bios flash thing from a CD?

    I dont have a floppy drive. I have a CD/DVD burner.

I really need some help here as most of the places I have found on the net confuse my little pea brain.

My PC runs fine, no crashes no problem, but I feel that this needs to be done now and not later.

    My other bits are:
    1 x OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC3200 Enhanced Latency, Dual Channel Platinum DDR-RAM CL2, Rev2
    1 x ASUS Extreme N6800 Ultra PCI-E
    1 x Enermax 600W Noisetaker power supply.
All stuffed into a ANTEC case with window and a load of Neon and LED's that put the temp up in the case 8DEG C ....... .......

Help me Obi-wan you are my only hope!

You can update your bios in windows with a program called winflash. Download the bios want then:

    -Open winflash
    -click file, update bios
-navigate to your bios .BIN file
    -open and update
    -restart

Tell me what version bios you are getting. There is an FX60 test one going around, but the one I like the most is the 623-3.

Wreck~ What BIOS would you reccomend for the SLI-DR Expert? I'm fairly new to DFI boards and would like your input.

Check out the 25/11/2005, N4ELDB25. It has the best memory support and high overclock stability.

I used a floppy to flash my bios. (the regular way). I have an albatron k8sli mainboard, can i use winflash for my motherboard? does it work with ANY motherboard?? does it work differently than using a floppy? IE. does it cause more errors and such if you were to do it through winflash instead of the regular way?

As for sacky, no. Winflash will not work, but there is probably an equivalent from albatron, check their website.

well no, there is no equivalent. I think Asus, DFI and (maybe) MSI are the only ones with programs you can use. Albatron does not have a program used to flash bios you have to do it through a floppy at boot. damn =(

Well then, thats one reason to never buy albatron again.
