no it doesnt matter, the only thing that travels over the HTT is your peripherals and video cards, its not a bottleneck at all.

With your actual HTT speed the goal is to keep it as near to 1000mhz as possible. Testing has showed that even at 800mhz it's not a bottleneck for any component. On the older boards HTT over about 1100mhz would cause instability. I've heard on the newer boards your can reach HTT of 1250mhz and more with no stability compromise. Your HTT is perfectly fine at 960mhz.

haha, im a geek, but even this is confusing for me.

So just get a **** load of fans, and im good?

Im getting a well desined case (cooling wise) with 3 120mm fans and 2 80 mms. I should be fine.
