7600GS good/bad??

thinking of gettin a new vid card but not a really expensive also id like one that my current psu can handle: 300Watts 19A on 12V rail. Newegg says that the minimum for the 7600gs is 300Watts 18A on 12V rail.

So how good is the 7600GS, worth it? what settings could i play on, specs are in sig. (I live in the uk and dont wanna spend more than £100)

I bet medium/high. The 7600gs performs a bit better than the 6600gt

There is the XFX 7600GS and the 7600GS extreme edition. So is the 7600GS any good and is it worth getting the extreme edition. Bearing in mind that i have stock cooling and quite a limited air supply so i dont want anything frying. Also my psu is bestec and im not sure if it has a separate connector for the gpu, is it ok if it doesn't?

If you said the 7600 GS performs a little betterthan 6600GT than i guess that would be like a X1600 Pro b/c thats what i have. idk though i havent really seen any benchmarks on the 7600. try a X800GTO or X850XT PE or an X800-X850 card in your range. much better i think.

The 7600Gs is better than a 1600 eeeasy.. its closest rival now is the x1800GTO, but that is more expensive and not much better in performance. The 7600Gs rips the 6600GT, its rips the 6800GT/GS, and it also beats all the x800/850 range from ATI. They are all using the old technology, the new 7600GS is the "direct" compeditor to the 1800GTO (the step down froma 1800GT. It is a good card and can run BF2 at all high, 1280x1024 with 4xAA. I have a good pic of benchmarks on it at home (at school now). Ill post it when i get home.

ah I think you are confused. What you are thinking of is the 7600GT, not the 7600GS. The 7600GS, just released this week (Tuesday I think), pretty much performs at the same level as a 6600gt, usually a couple fps higher.

since 7600 GS has the price of X1600 pro and out perform it easily

it IS A GOOD DEAL for this price range

but keep in mind that the 7600 GT's ability grows exponentially as you take more money out of your pocket

I would say go ahead and go for it. It is a good bargain. Good performance. You can always RMA it if your not satisfied. Go for it. Who knows you might end up liking the card alot.

It's definitely a good price for the quality of the card. I would go with the eVGA version since their warranty is so good and you have the option of stepping up to a better card for just shipping costs.

the eVGA version also has a warranty that also covers overclocking too!(i think..) I sure wish they made ATi cards. that would be awesome.
